This device is hot garbage. Should have gone with the ultra, which everyone recommends over the express. Can only get about 2/3 of the 1Gbps bandwidth we pay for while using a wired laptop straight to the router! My previous TP link router was able to get 950 Mbps over wireless! Performance aside, the app takes forever to connect to the device… I'm reading that it's because they undersized the hardware within the express router. See photo attached of what you will stare at for several minutes before it decides to populate the screen with information. So management through the app is a nightmare! And then randomly during the night the router shut down and said it needed to be rebooted. Upon reboot, it thinks it's a new device that needs to be set up with the app, even though the app can talk to it add devices are still connecting through it. On top of that, it now randomly tells me permission denied when I try to connect to it with the app while at home. Total nightmare. Sending it back and getting the ultra, which has much better reviews (though it doesn't have a wireless AP built-in). Also, for those new to the ubiquity world, phone support is only available if you pay. Otherwise you're limited to their chat, which is also a nightmare. Once you finally reach someone, if you take very long at all to respond, such as grabbing a screenshot or running a Speedtest, you are then put back into the queue and waiting for 30 to 45 minutes to communicate again. I spent eight hours on what should have been a 5 to 10 minute conversation. I suppose if you go with ubiquity, just count on paying for phone support. It's likely by design. So far, I'm really not impressed. Though, the packaging and marketing materials are superb!
