Introducing a new way to "crank" up your compost heap from Lotech Products, the inventors of the original corkscrew compost aerator, the Compost Crank.

The Compost Crank Twist is a fast, easy, highly effective, and enjoyable way to tend your compost bin. Modeled after our original Compost Crank, the corkscrew aerator design easily works its way into any sort of compost, whether it's just light leaves or dense sticks and vines. It can be comfortably used with one or two hands. Simply grasp the curled handle, and twist the tool clockwise down into your pile. Lift straight up without turning, and the corkscrew pulls compost up from the bottom to thoroughly mix and aerate. Twist in, and twist back out to create air holes. Twist in the center, lift out and shake compost to the side to dig a hole and bury fresh material. The Compost Crank Twist is a complete, high quality composting tool.

The aerator never clogs. Simply lay the spiral on top of your compost or on the edge of your bin, and "unscrew" the stuck on material. Built to last for as long as you compost, you can rest assured the Twist will be there ready to mix your pile whenever you are.

Lotech Products is committed to making it as easy and effective as possible for people to compost.

From our heap to yours,
The Ambrose Family

I had my doubts about this compost aerator. But, I needed something for turning my compost. I'm very happy that I took a chance based on reviews. This tool makes turning my compost piles and aerating them easy. Excellent quality tool that does the job well!

I have a larger compost bin in my backyard, and previously had a compost aerator that was basically a straight metal pole with two wings at the tip that would collapse and expand. I'm a larger sized man, and it was difficult for me to fully push it in to my bin and move the compost around, and nearly impossible for my wife to use it. Over time, I used the tool less and less as it was a hassle. This past spring, I looked inside my compost bins and the yard waste had not broken down like I'd expected it would since I had not been aerating it it. So I went onto Amazon and found this crank twist aerator. I hemmed and hawed a bit due to the price, but eventually took the plunge and bought it.When I recieved it, I was surprised by the quality of the construction. This tool will outlast me, so I impressed at that point, but when I used it and realized has easy it is to twist it into the compost and move it around, I was completely sold. I asked (badgered perhaps) my wife to try it out, and though she didn't understand my excitement, she too was easily able to use this aerator. This tool is a revelation, and I can now aerate my compost bin in around two minute now, once every week or two (or three). This tool is of high quality build, and it does its job. It works very well. I don't often give 5 star reviews because most products don't seem built to last anymore. Not the case with this tool. This tool is old school build quality.Buy buy buy if you are looking for an aerating tool for your compost bin.

I have never tried to turn the contents of my compost bin before. I have a tall, top load bin and it was just too awkward to try to use a shovel to turn it. I saw this product and wasn't too hopeful that it would work, but thought I'd give it a try. It's perfect! I can't believe how easy it is to use and what a great job it does. I'm sure I'll have some great, usable compost in no time at all. I highly recommend this product.

I have a large Geobin, almost filled to the brim that’s never been properly turned. I was determined not spend any money on a compost turner and instead had been using a mop handle and a lot of brute strength to plunge some holes into the compost. My compost never started “cooking” even after over a year and lately, I could no longer get the handle more than a few inches into the mass. I took the plunge and purchased this turner due to the simple construction and reasonable price. The construction of this turner is very solid and seems like it will last for a long time. At first I was worried that the curved hook was bent by accident, but looking at other reviews realized that it is intentional. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to turn the screw into the compost. Even pulling the turner out was pretty easy, especially if I stand on the stairs next to the bin. I only wish that the pole was maybe 6 inches longer to reach the very bottom of my bin. It comes pretty close though. A larger screw would also be great to reduce the turning time. The hook at the end is quite practical allowing me to hang the turner along the side of the bin. It’s only the fist day, but I’m quite happy with it so far. I love that it’s made in the USA.

Love At First TwistI used Lotech Products Compost Crank Twist Compost Aerator and loved it. It is easy to use. I just twisted it, and it dugs itself to the bottom of the mulch barrel and pulled it up. The screw end is larger than I thought and brings the bottom of the pit to the top. It does an excellent job of mixing the older and newer mulch. Furthermore, it only has one part and nothing to wear out or break. I never give 4 stars because I don't trust 5 stars. I would recommend this product to anyone with a mulch barrel.

This thing is made of SOLID heavy duty steel. After two months hanging out in the rain and weather there isn’t a spot of rust on it. stop reading reviews. Just buy this one. Don’t get a cheap one. I can insert this all the way to the bottom of my large heavy compost pile and pull it up and it doesn’t bend or give one bit. Sometimes I twist too deep and have to pull really hard because it is that strong and sturdy. It has allowed me to make hot compost quickly without having to flip my entire pile all the time. I basically only flip it when adding a large amount of grass clippings or other green nitrogen material. Otherwise I just use this to pull up a few areas of the pile every other day or so and it works very nicely. I leave it hanging on the fence beside the pile. Two minor criticisms for the manufacturer to consider (regardless of these, I still give it 5 stars and would happily buy again if I needed another one). 1. The product sticker should be placed in the bottom spiral and not the top near the handle. The reason is that it is located right where I hold the tool when turning it. As the sticker wears off, the sticky residue is annoying and makes it harder to turn smoothly. After a couple of months the sticky adhesive has mostly worn off so this is a relatively minor temporary issue. 2. The foam grip on the handle end of the tool sometimes slips a bit when I’m pulling up a large heavy amount of compost. This is understandable and I can easily slide the grip back into place. But if the manufacturer can find a way to make the foam grip adhere more tightly and not slip, that would make an already awesome tool even better.
