I ran 8 AWG wire from my car battery to a winch for my utility trailer. I have a quick connect on the back and the wire stays coiled up in the back. Whenever you wire something in your car/truck, you should always have a fusible link rated for the gear you wired up. Always. I cut the wire on this unit so that I had a short end and a longer end as I needed them. I crimped an eyelet on one end with shrinkwrap and used a water tight solder butt connector to my 8 AWG wire. No I can feel confident that my winch will not take out the car and vise versa should I ever "jump" the car.Note: Fusible links like this are really important. Just because you've been getting away without one for years does not change that fact.

Nice fuse holder for the Maxi fuses, which is a lot bigger than standard fuses.

Installed 2 of these. 1 between my van starter battery and a DC-DC charger, and another from the charger to my Lifepo4 battery for accessories. They both work fine. Only trouble I had was putting the fuses into the holder. It was a very tight squeeze and I had to use a lot of force to get the fuse to fit. Otherwise would buy again.

This unit will not hold an automotive fuse and its quite large so make sure you order a fuse with it. I was looking for a holder to hold a 40 amp automotive fuse. Otherwise it seems to be a good product.

This product requires the oversized fuse, which isn't a deal breaker especially since this is 8 AWG. Bummer to have to carry additional 30 amp fuses of a larger size, while its accessory takes the traditional 30 amp fuse blade. True 8 AWG (all copper, stranded). I would not mount this in a location where rain/moisture could make contact. Mine is under my car hood near the battery, so I'm probably OK. Overall good product.

Extremely nice and high quality in-line fuse holder. Very easy to work with. Simply cut the line/loop opposite the fuse and splice/solder the two wire ends where you want the fuse. In a car audio installation, this would generally be next to the battery in the engine compartment. Totally durable enough for this application.The fuses required are MAXI fuses, however and you probably do NOT HAVE THEM available on-hand. They are HUGE and are not the mini or standard fuses found in any automotive fuse box for instance. I had to order a set after the fact for this reason. Luckily, I had the time. Why not throw in a 40 and 60 amp fuse and raise the price a dollar?!?
