Continental Elite Stretch Belts are made specifically for drives that don't have a mechanical tensioner to maintain constant belt tension or an adjustment slot that allows for belt installation or tensioning. Since 2004, automobile manufacturers have been designing drives using self-tensioning belts. These drives do not have a mechanical tensioner to maintain constant belt tension and they do not have an adjustment slot that allows belt installation and tensioning. The Elite Stretch Belt incorporates low modulus and high elongation technologies that allow the belt to be installed on these fixed drive systems and provide the “self-tensioning” capabilities necessary to maintain proper belt tension in the absence of an automatic tensioner. Continental Elite's distinctive design uses the latest OEM technology in EPDM compounds and a polyamide tensile cord that stretches for installation, then recovers once installed to maintain proper tension. Although Elite Stretch Belts look similar to Elite Poly-V belts, they are dramatically different and not interchangeable with our Poly-V or other serpentine belts. The Continental Elite Stretch Belt can be differentiated by its part number. The functional Poly-V part number that includes the number of ribs and length also has an “S” suffix, indicating an Elite Stretch Belt.

Expected a belt for the alternator etc. received a belt that looks like it would fit the ac compressor. Supposed to be a stretch belt. Belt was far too short and would not stretch enough to fit the pulley. After many attempts the belt started to tear because of its poor quality. Could not use this belt!

No problems with this belt. But if you're buying for Mazda 3 2006 go with a Gates belt for the AC. The Continental belt for Mazda 3 AC doesn't go on.

They were a little difficult to put on, but YouTube helped! They are the exact replacement and are working fine!

I purchased this belt when I replaced my AC compressor (2008 Mazda 3 - 2.0L, MT). It fits just fine and works as it should. It is a stretch belt so you need a special tool to put it on.

Cut old belt to remove a/c clutch and pulley assembly & installed coil. The bearing on the new pulley is a different diameter, could not complete repair, car operable but without a/c. Cannot make use of belt without correct clutch/pulley assembly. Belt is slightly shorter than original belt.

Good product. But unlike suggested by Amazon (and many websites), this AC belt is not the one that fits Mazda 3 2.3L NA engine. This belt has the spec of 5PK691. However, the one in my engine is 5PK694. There's a 3mm difference that makes this belt too tight to install.

Tight fit for my 07 Mazda 3 2.3L. Dealership claimed that it wouldn't fit when I tried to have them install it, but it DOES FIT.I tried 2 different belt tools to get it on, but the power steering lines get in the way. Ended up getting it on by reaching my hand AROUND the crankshaft and keeping the belt held to the crank as I wrenched the AC compressor.
