My husband has gone nuts for things southwestern after too much “Longmire”. When he asked for a bolo tie, I rolled my eyes and thought I’d fix him by getting this one with a Cicada on it because we live in the Southeast and are serenaded by Cicadas most summers. When it arrived, I was truly surprised and impressed by the quality of the Cicada. And my husband loves it!

This is a great tie, and very timely fot those of us in the Maryland area experiencing "Brood X" cicadas. I wore this to my son's college graduation as the cicadas buzzed. Lots of compliments.

This bolo tie is a unique piece of neckwear that adds a bit of a western flare to the average dress shirt/suit or expands upon an already cowboy themed look. I'd recommend this bolo to someone who would like to add a unique touch to their wardrobe.

I bought the silver-colored cicada. For reference, I am a guy who bought this to wear with a western style shirt. It looks amazing! People who have seen me wear it recognize it instantly as a cicada. I have received compliments saying that it looked pretty cool.Yes, this tie is hollow because the bolo tie braided corded slides through it. The cord can be removed at will from the metal clips (for lack of a better word) on the back. I am glad the tie is designed this way, because I can replace the cord with a different type if I chose to or if the original cord is damaged. The hollowness does not make the tie feel chintzy by any means, so I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. This thing is definitely heavy enough to stay put on your chest without flopping around.
