The Cooper-Atkins 4011 pipe strap thermistor wraps around a pipe to measure surface temperature. It has a temperature range of -25 to +212 degrees F/-32 to +100 degrees C and an accuracy of + or - 2 degrees F. The thermistor has a 12' cord.

I can use this sensor with my Cooper temp meter and also use it with yellow jacket digital gauges. Works well for large diameter pipes.

Use this with my cooper atkins thermistor box for measuring refrigerant line temps. A little pricey but specialty tools like this usually are.

UPDATE: THIRD ONE WAS PURCHASED March 18th 2021 and now stopped working yesterday. SO IRRITATING! Product works but For the price the last one didnt work as long as we thought it should so purchased another one hope this one last longer. Update: second one is already not working . These should be lasting longer than 7 months. 6 months and now 4 months.

This item works great in HVAC to determine temps when adjusting charge for superheat or subcooling. It is great on package units or splits. I use clamp on probes most of the time but usually have to use the pipe strap on package units due to airflow on the condenser. Yes it's priced a little high but in my field of work nearly everything is. You get what you pay for when it comes to Cooper-Atkins gear.
