Early cordless tools were toys at best...weak, and with very limited battery life. Nowadays, tools with brushless motors and lithium batteries are common. This cordless buffer has plenty of power for polishing and buffing. I actually applied rubbing and polishing compound to a full-size Ford E-150 van that had a severely oxidized finish (I didn't do the roof...yet), and did it all with just one battery. It finally went down to one bar on the battery gauge at the end. I really wasn't expecting that. The unit seems to be well made, with soft-touch plastic on the control surfaces. I hope this plastic doesn't ultimately outgas and become sticky in the future, as some earlier such tools have done. Controls worked smoothly, and the buffer wheel seemed well balanced...considering that it has an elliptical orbit (short throw). The three-light battery gauge seemed accurate. I did use the battery until it got down to one light with my van, mainly to see how much power it had, but in the future, I would change batteries as soon as the power seemed to weaken.Speaking of batteries, I'm not sure if this seller sells additional batteries for when the original ones wear out, as they ultimately will. For the price of this buffer, I expect replacement batteries to be available in the future. It does seem that other sellers on Amazon offer what seem to be compatible batteries. The buffer comes with an assortment of pads and buffers. I'm a complete novice with this tool, and mostly used the orange pads. The other applicators/buffers seemed a little flimsy, and I'll probably be replacing them in the future. There is a learning curve to using this tool; I'd advise watching online videos to see how to clean and polish your beloved car before doing any damage to it.The buffer also comes complete with a plastic Hannibal Lecter apron. If you're spraying enough cleaning product to coat yourself to the point of needing an apron, I'd suggest you're doing something wrong. I'll save the apron for next Halloween.And...you also get one hook-and-loop sandpaper disk for this tool. Now, I'm a complete schlub when it comes to using buffers like this, but I will never use sandpaper on any tool meant for polishing a car finish. First, this is not a tool with venting holes in the wheel, or any sort of filtration, so if you use it for sanding, you'll be spreading dust everywhere, and most importantly, if you do indeed use this tool for sanding something, then switch to buffing, there's always a chance...probably a small one, but still a chance...that a grain of abrasive grit that was stuck to the wheel, or somewhere on the tool housing, could fall off onto the hood of your car when you're polishing it, and I'll leave it to your imagination what a 60-grit piece of abrasive material ground into your paint at several thousand RPM can do to your finish. If you want to sand something, get a dedicated orbital sander...A pro who does multiple cars a day might want a more substantial unit, but for a hobbyist car detailer, this tool is great, and has already saved me countless hours in salvaging the finish on my 34-year old van. .

This buffer works great. The performance is top notch, the speed options, comfort and practicality are great, The plastic body feels very similar to those on the high dollar tool brands, it's not flimsy or cheap. The fact that it comes with two batteries is really nice, and they hold power for really long, It's also lightweight which I really like. It comes with a lot of accessories, so basically you have everything you need, and the noise is not very loud, Overall, I would recommend this tool to anyone looking for a buffer.
