Great selection of router bits. I tried getting a set like this at my local home center, and they wanted 6x the price and it didn’t even come with all of these bits! The bits have been holding up well, and there have been zero signs of wear. I have been using them a bit as well, so that was a good thing. Overall, these are highly recommended for a good, but reasonably priced bit set.

I have several routers, but wanted something that would be very light, easy to just "grab and use" and be very portable for jobs around the house. The router isn't too bad on some fronts, but fails to provide the value for the price point. The router is nice and light and has a decent balance that doesn't cause you to tilt it and ruin your work. There is basically no fine adjustment on it. You have to fiddle with it and lock it and hope it stays. It has only enough power to do light trim work. If you try to do a 1/2" chamfer on hard wood, it is going to struggle. The included accessories are almost unusable. The edge guide fails to lock in place and will slip at even the slightest pressure and the trimming guide is novel, but poorly executed by being difficult to adjust precisely and redundant since most trim router bits include guide bushings. I do really like the dust collection shield, but would also prefer if it clipped on and off easier. The battery life is just fine as well.Overall, if you have a really limited budget and happen to have batteries that fit this, and don't do a lot of trim work then this might be fine, but I think it's worth saving the little bit extra and getting an established brand name router for this.

In the past few years, I’ve been seeing a lot more cordless routers than ever before, and I assume that has a lot to do with the increasing power and efficiency of lithium-ion batteries. The ability to pack serious performance into a compact, portable unit is a game-changer for woodworking. This cordless trim router is a great example of that convenience—offering the freedom of movement that comes from being untethered to a power outlet while still delivering solid performance.Size-wise, this router is comparable to most corded models, mainly because it needs to accommodate a decently sized battery pack. However, the trade-off of not dealing with a cord is well worth it. If you’ve ever used a router in a workshop, you know how often a cord can get in the way, forcing awkward positioning or requiring an extension cable. Not having to worry about that makes this a great tool for job sites or quick projects where portability is key.That said, if you’re expecting the same raw power as a corded router, you may be a little disappointed. While this model gets the job done for most woodworking tasks, it doesn’t quite match the strength and endurance of a plug-in version. However, for the majority of trim work, rounding edges, and light routing jobs, it’s more than capable. The included 1/4" collet and accessories give it solid versatility, and while the height adjustment can be a little finicky, with some patience, it can be set to the right position.I primarily use this router when I’m working on projects away from my shop. It’s an excellent option for mobility, but when I need precise height settings and more control over speed, I still turn to my router table. Those expecting precision down to the millimeter may find this unit a bit limiting, but for general-purpose work, it’s a fantastic addition to a cordless tool collection.One important note: this router doesn’t come with a battery, so you’ll need to have Makita-compatible 18V or 21V batteries to use it. If you already own a Makita tool collection, this won’t be an issue, and if you’re like me, you probably have a few spare batteries in different sizes.Overall, this is a great router for convenience and portability, with only a few trade-offs in power and precision. Four stars—perfect for quick jobs and fieldwork, but not a complete replacement for a high-end corded router in a dedicated workshop.

I ordered a bit set for my router which it looks like the item has changed to a router and bits, but this review is only for the bits itself. I like to keep a case of the various sizes around just for the one-off projects that might come up where you want an angle on something or to take the corner off of something. This set was very inexpensive and came with a good amount of bits for what I needed. I have used a couple of them on smaller projects and they worked great. I am sure they won't hold their edge as long as a bit that cost as much as this whole set or three times as much. So just know if you are planning on getting into woodworking you might want to go a different option. But for a weekend warrior that occasionally has the need for a certain bit. This is a great option to have around. The case itself that they came in is decent enough that I can throw it on the shelf and everything stays protected.
