Super convenient and seems to be lasting quite a good while with my 5.0 battery. Works just as it should and heats up quick!

this thing is awesome! hold the plus button to turn on or off. it comes on at 300 degrees which is plenty for standard solder or turn it up if you want. very portable and doesn’t tip over easily because the battery holds it down.the iron holder works well and the cord is heavy duty. If it lasts it will use it a long time. it shuts off after a time but. not sure how long it is. I tried adjusting the temperature once in a while to get it to stay on but it’s not affected. just turn it back on when you see that it’s gone off and it heats up very quickly. the iron has a light that blinks slowly to show it’s on.I wish I had bought a long time ago.

Je recommande fortement le produit. Incroyablement plus rapide qu’un pistolet de soudage ou d’un crayon électrique. Température réglable, je n’ai que du bon à dire pour cet article.

Works well with Makita 18V LXT batteries.Like: Heats up faster than my bench unit, portable & nice length cord for iron.Wishing it had: Sponge with the unit to wipe the tip & extra tips (of different sizes for iron).Would recommend!

This works great! Love this. So glad I purchased it. So much better than a plug in one.

I wasn't expecting much from this, given the price, but it's a really good bit of gear. I highly recommend it. It's one of the best irons I've owned, mains powered or otherwise. Glad I bought it.

I have used this soldering iron multiple times and it is Great!. It is very handy and portable. I was skeptical when I purchased it but I have used it and it is perfect for what I need. The iron heats up fast and delivers the heat through a digital display that seems accurate. It heats up very fast and I was able to use it to make repairs on circuit boards quickly and it didn't even drain my battery. To me that is worth it. There is a sleep mode that kicks in after a while of none use but it hasn't caused me any issues.

It works well, temp control seems good. As far as portable goes, you don't need to plug it in and it has a good run time on a 20V battery but it's as big as most corded stations. As another reviewer mentioned the iron holder allows the tip to touch the metal cage which would result in wasting the battery and possibly resulting in a burn from the hot cage. It is easily solved by bending a metal piece inside the cage down a bit which then keeps the tip from touching the cage. One of the things that annoys me about this is that the cord is as thick as a power drill. All my other soldering stations have relatively thin cords which are easier maneuver when your reaching for the iron. This is the Dewalt version and I had some difficulty with some of my aftermarket batteries. It requires a good push to get it to seat properly but once its seated it works fine. Also the display is in degrees C so you have to cross that from F which is easy to do. There is no provision for tip cleaning, another negative.

First, I have a number of DeWalt 20 volt cordless power tools, four DeWalt batteriesand two chargers. If you don’t have DeWalt batteries/chargers, you probably should buy something else. Now that we have that issue covered, this soldering station is great. I am building a model railroad. I am soldering all the rail joints and I am applying power feed wires about every three feet of flex track. I am also tinning stranded wire around the layout. The portability of this tool is a huge plus. I also like that i can control the temperature of the iron with push buttons. I have a top quality Weller soldering station on my workbench. However, this little device gives me the portability that I need and since I already have the batteries and chargers, it is very cost effective.
