It did not work on its own. I think it is a bit too thin on the side wall. I only got it to work by adding a folded business card underneath it to get the calipers to properly center the caliper. Price is right though.

If you work on bicycle disc brakes, this simple device is a must have. When disc pad or rotors need replacing, one of the most vexing tasks is to properly align the brake pads with the rotors so they don't rub and make noise. This tool acts as a shim between both sides of the rotor and the brake pads. Before you re-tighten the caliper, simply slide this shim over the rotor and between the pads on the caliper. Next, just re-tighten the caliper bolts and you have a properly aligned brake. No telling how much time and cursing it would take to get the proper alignment by eye-balling it, riding, re-aligning., ad nauseam. Best $7 I've ever spent.

These were cheap, and they helped me make sure my Shimano brakes were set up properly easier than I could do without them. They might not be necessary at all, but using them help make sure there was just enough space for them to be centered while I set the brakes and moved the calipers.

Makes life easy when you are reinstalling your QR tire to the fork, slides right on the brake rotor then install the caliper and the caliper bolts, it’s that easy.

If you find yourself struggling in effectively centering your disc brakes to prevent rubbing, this is your tool!! 1), loosen the disc brake assembly, 2) slide this tool in over the disc rotor (between the brake pads), 3), grab and hold the brake lever (engaging the brake), 4) tighten the brake assembly. Done! This tool is essential and incredibly easy to use!

After years of eyeballing brake pads trying to get then aligned just right, and using baseball cards as spacers, only sometimes successfully, the mechanic at my local bike shop turned me on to these things. Perfectly aligned brakes every time. Just loosen the calipers, slide these things over the rotor under the pads, apply pressure on brake lever, and tighten, bam. Just like that.
