This would be much better if the two pieces of wood were thicker. The boards I was using these on bounced too much and sometimes bounced right over those pieces.

This is a very nice tool to have when setting up the boards.Takes the guesswork out of getting the distance right, which is what you need to get good at cornhole.We play often and knowing we have the correct distance; we can get more consistent with our throws.The carry bag is great, we whip it out, measure off the play field and wrap them back up for next time.No questions and helps us get to playing faster, and better.

I was surprised and a little disappointed that this did not come already set for 27 feet, it was about eight inches too long. The ends were just tied with plain old overhand knots which are not great for stopper knots. I recommend redoing them with something like an Ashley's Stopper. I do like that it is so compact, because I can fit it right inside my bag case. I have another one of these distance tools (Cornhole Quik-Toss Regulator) that uses a rope instead of a string and large balls instead of dowels. It works great but it's a little bulkier than this device. The downside of using string instead of rope though is that the string stretches while the rope does not. You need to be aware of that when using this tool. Tie it off at 27' with moderate tension on the string and then always use that same amount of tension when setting up your boards. If you don't care about saving some space, I recommend getting the Regulator instead.

As the description on this item implies, many methods to measure the correct distance between cornhole boards have their shortcomings or annoyances. Stepping it off is inaccurate; measuring with a tape measure causes twists and turns, or requires pulling it out and marking the end, and then having to do it again because the measure isn't long enough. This simple yet handy tool is compact but makes measuring the regulation 27' a breeze. An inexpensive yet welcome addition to my cornhole setup!
