The Craftmade DR18W 18 Inch Downrod can be used with any of the Craftmade fans to adjust them to what height is appropriate to your needs or wants. The DR18W is 18 inches long and has a white finish that matches any of the coordinating fans sold in the Craftmade company. Craftmade downrods come in lots of different sizes and finishes to match any of the different models Craftmade has to offer. If you are not sure what length downrod you should use, you should know that a ceiling fan should be no lower than 7 feet from the floor to the bottom of your light kit, if you have one, or to the bottom most point of the fan. The higher you hang your ceiling fan, the farther the circulating air will travel which helps to more effectively cool the room.
