I am not sure why people are saying these are hard to get over a bulb but they worked out great for us.

I broke (not into pieces but so the lightbulb insides broke) three bulbs trying to force these over the bulb. I even tried to pull it apart so it wasn’t so tight and the force still was too much. However, I finally got it to go over the bulb and I’m happy with the results

These lampshade adaptors are perfect to use with a lamp without a harp to attach a lampshade. They are sturdy and easy to attach to lampshades - exactly as described and arrived quickly in perfect condition. I would buy again if I need more.

I love buying cool lamps at thrift shops and antique stores, but unfortunately, these usually do not include shades, and are often missing parts. These adapters completely fix that problem. You can use these with just about any type of lamp shade, and clip it directly onto the bulb. They work best with traditional/LED bulbs, but you can clip it onto a compact fluorescent, but it's a bit difficult to keep it perfectly straight. These lampshade adapters are good quality, and easy to use.

I have a lamp that did not have a harp but purchased a lampshade that required one--so I thought. I found this gadget and am glad to report that it works! It is much sturdier than I expected, holds the lampshade in place well. My lamp is a smaller one, hence a small shade. I do not know if it could handle a large shade. Also, it only works with a standard-sized bulb, the "old-fashioned" shape. It would not adapt to the "curly" bulb. The tension is pretty tight (necessary to hold the piece in place) and I've wondered about breaking the bulb but so far, so good.
