Works fine for me. These are modulated sounds and not recordings being played back so the cricket is close enough to me. Battery lasted maybe a little over a week for me. Then the FOB started blinking red to indicate the batteries were dead. The range is also pretty decent for what it is. If someone really wanted to increase the run time they could just mod it to use larger capacity batteries.

My grandson who is almost 5, had a great time with it. It was a little annoying to the parents, but all in all fun for the kids.

I was so excited to prank my boss with this. I tested it at home, chose my sound and went to work. Snuck into my bosses office and taped it behind her desk. Hit the button and boom, not a peep. I made sure the remote and device were both switched on and nothin. Changed out the batteries and it worked, taped it behind her desk and boom, nothing. Such potential but ultimately let down. Find a different product because this one doesnt deliver.

Yes, it works. Yes, it gives you a choice of several noises that are activated by remote.HOWEVER, there is an on/off switch on the remote and on the device. If you leave the device in the on mode for more than a couple days, the battery will be completely drained. It does not matter if you do not use the device, it does not matter if you want to keep it on standby, the battery will completely drain on both the remote and the device. So you cannot just plant the device and use it for the next couple weeks. You have to click the on switch on both the remote and device when you want to use it, and immediately turn off both the remote and device switches as soon as you are done using the device or the battery will die on both the remote and device. So don't leave the switches on overnight, and don't plant the device planning on using it at a later time.
