This Cricut Explorer 4 cutting machine is an excellent choice. It cuts much faster than the earlier models. It has a guided set up, and a free trial to the app. You can design almost anything and transfer it to t-shirts, cups, or just about anything. The machine works flawlessly and has customer service that helps you through any project you may have. It comes with a sample set of vinyl, a weeding tool, a fine marker, and the machine itself. This certainly is one of those products you want to keep away from dust, as this may affect the sticky mat included as well. Dust may create bubbles and make you have to restart your project. I love this Cricut cutting machine, I have found ways to make a project of everything within my day. Labels for shelves, cartoon cut outs for the children, notebook decorating, and more. This is definitely perfect for making backdrop lettering, customizing parties and more. This product has surpassed my expectations and can be used for lots of everyday projects. 5 huge stars!

Cricut Explore 4 - $249.00We have a Cricut 3. It seems like this is exactly the same as the 3, except it just cuts faster. That can be important if you're in a hurry to get a job out.It comes with the cutter and a Fine-Point Blade + Housing, Materials Sampler, Transfer Tape , Fine Point Pen, Light Grip Mat, Weeder Tool, & 25 images of digital content in Design Space App. The images are pretty much clip art, and note that there are only 25 of them, so if you're getting this machine for the 'free' graphics, that isn't it.In order to get the 'free' project templates, you have to register your machine. So if you're looking into a plotter that can run offline, know that this one has to start out online. The information says that it doesn't just cut, but it "draws, foils, scores, & more." I don't know what any of that is, or if my 3 does it, because I only need this for cutting.Does not print. So many folks get confused on the 'print and cut' thing. So here it is: None of these cricut machines like this cut. They work with your printer so if you have a printable media for the Cricut, you send it first through your printer, then put it in the Cricut as instructed, then it cuts what you just printed. Still cool, but you would never find something that both prints and cuts at this price point.

I have never used a Cricut before so Cricut Explore 4 - Smart Cutting Machine (Seashell) is my first one. It was pretty simple to setup using my iPad and the design space app. The machine only option arrived with a sample pack of items containing much less than what is in the product picture. I received 2 pieces of yellow card stock, 1 smart black glossy vinyl, 3 smart black vinyl, 2 transfer tape sheets, 1 lightweight mat, 1 black pen, and small weeder. I wish there had been other colors and not just black. After setting up the machine I did the test cut and it worked well. I tried something else that did not go as well. I have ordered some other supplies and a better weeder and other items to help with this crafting journey. I spent more on extras than what the machine alone costs. I did find out that the foiling options are not compatible if using a mobile device which I am disappointed in. But there seems to be many things I can make once I get the hang of this better.

This is my first Cricut machine, so I don't have anything to compare it to and I don't fully understand the limitations of the machine itself. Set up was really easy, everything made sense and there wasn't anything to put together. The app walked me through the pairing process and I was ready to run my first print in less than 10 minutes.The app is required to run the machine. You will need a device (phone, tablet, computer) capable of running the application and connecting to the machine via bluetooth. The app has some paywalled features (surrounding fonts, removing photo backgrounds, layering items) and I'm not sure if they're "worth" it if you have any skill with image editing. While the editing portion of the app is easy to use it isn't particularly powerful. My final bit about the app is that it sometimes takes a long time to connect to the cutter via bluetooth and I had some crashes where I needed to physically close and restart it. Since these are app issues and this is new hardware I'm hopeful they will be addressed.The cutter itself is super easy to use. It comes with a mat 12x12 that is slightly sticky so you can use any material in the machine. I got some value vinyl and after sticking it on the mat it cut beautifully. There's a little almost "cup holder" on the side of the machine that I assume is for storing tools. I bought a little pack of tools and they fit well in there.On the subject of tools, if you're new to this like I am, you will want to pick up a little pack of them with a good "weeder" (that's what they call cleaning up the design of all the extra vinyl), a little squeegie sort of tool for getting the air bubbles out of the material after you stick it on the mat and maybe some tiny scissors. I also didn't realize it but you need something calling "transfer tape" to get the vinyl cut design off the backing to apply it to your car/phone/wall/whatever.I was worried this would be overwhelming but it isn't! There are only five buttons on the machine. The one that opens it up after you close it down, the power button, the "feed paper" button, the GO button, and a pause button. It does require different blades for thicker materials like fabric or for scoring. This bundle only comes with the 'standard' blade that cuts things the thickness of vinyl, cardstock, very lightweight fabric, and iron-ons.It's very cool to watch in action, darting around so quickly and making such precise cuts. I thought my design would take longer to cut but it was done incredibly fast. I am looking forward to trying some more projects like iron-on designs. The amount of stuff this machine can do is almost a little overwhelming but it's going to add so much polish to my craft projects.
