I wish the grip was smooth tightly molded rubber like my older one. These spring loaded pliers are a pleasure to use

Works great. Good materials and built to last. Should’ve bought something like this years ago.

I ordered this for my dad who never heard of it. I’ve used them forever and truly the single most useful tool I have ever had. Tighten hose connections, faucets, plumbing, grab things you can’t grab with fingers, hold things like wires or something you can’t grab with fingers , I’m always grabbing this tool for everything. I don’t even bother putting it away because it’s useful for everything.

These are the best tools for taking heavy hot things out of the oven. I don't have much grip and these little guys hold tight to pull pans out of the oven so I can get a safe hold of the baking dish. Not just for the garage anymore!

Robogrips were once a widely available and popular tool, when they were sold at Sears & Roebuck. Now they appear to be a very niche item with low availability. That's fine, but I believe more people can really benefit from a pair in their toolbox.Laminated steel construction, great torquey and ergonomic handles and auto adjustment combined with excellent construction and a simple design make for a tool that will last a lifetime with normal use.I keep one in every kit.

My dad had one of these when I was growing up as a kid, and I remember how neat and easy it was to use around the house. Now that I'm a grown up now, and using "real" tools, I remembered this tool and thought I'd buy it again just to see how well it holds up doing actual garage work.Once I received it and used it here and there, I was somehow both disappointed, but also had my nostalgia satisfied at the same time. It worked the same way it did when I was younger, but now that I was using it for more than kids toys and household tasks, it definitely was glaringly obvious how it's not meant for real garage work. Real use of these will strip and round bolts, and won't hold much torque vs real pliers. However, that's not to say it's a joke or not useful at all! There are actually plenty reasons to keep this close and use it often. It's less of a set of pliers and more of a "holder". When you need to hold a backing nut, or grip something as a clamp without having to open and close your hands often, this thing is super quick and easy to use. There are actually lots of instances in which you need a "quick" grip on something vs a high torque situation, so in those cases, you'll find these pretty handy, not to mention for quick household tasks that take less torque to complete. Keep these use cases in mind and you'll find yourself with a convenient pair of pliers.

I've had a big one for 20 years or more and used it a lot and it still works perfectly. The beauty of these is that they adjust themselves. Pick it up. The jaws are wide open. Place it and squeeze. That's it. As good as channel adjustables and way faster. I saw the little one and had to get it and am well pleased with it.These things are sturdy and feel it in my hand. Gripped hard the handles flex a bit but not enough to amount to anything. They are quick draw general purpose tools. I love them.
