I have purchased many in the past; they are quite durable and easy to fit into a wood turning. One caution: the newest ones are ever so slightly smaller than previous one I have purchased, measure the new one while making final adjustments to your turning blank.

I have used Crushgrind to make turned peppermills for close to 20 years now. Most of those oldest mills went to family and friends, and I know that every one of those is still working just fine despite daily use. The mill I use in my house has to be over 15 years old at this point and has ground an awful lot of pepper over the years and still works just like new.

very sharp grinder. I 3d printed the grinder itself instead of turning it and it fit perfectly.

I really don't understand the people that review this product and are whining that there are no instructions. Yes I agree instructions would make it a little bit easier, but its a grinder.... The mechanism is basically the same. If you're complaining about measurements, then you have no one but yourself to blame. I am a beginner to intermediate woodworker and this wasn't difficult. Grab a pair of calipers (which you better have if you're turning) and take the various measurements you need from the mechanism. If you don't have the exact bit size, then use a skew or parting tool and make the necessary adjustments to your inner diameters. Overall great product. Instructions would be nice, but certainly not necessary.

The picture is accurate to what I recieved, no instructions and apparently the design has changed since instructional videos were made. Look at the picture, there are snap in tabs on both the top and bottom pieces. No end bore will make this work without cutting a groove inside the bottom piece or over sizing it and applying a lot of glue, which is what I did. This grinder appears to be designed for mass production with an injection molded body.Update, after using for a few months got sick of it not putting out much, I could count the pieces of each turn on 1 hand. My $2.99 camping SnP shaker puts out more.

This kit is great. It is the best quality. There are complaints about bit sizes, but there are multiple ways to assemble it. I use the standard size bits and the specialilzed tool from Sorby to make the groove - no glue. Never had a problem with this kit, though I have with others.Go on Youtube, and search how to make a crushgrind peppermill - Bendan Stemp has an exceptional series of videos. Other distributors do as well.Don't buy the specialized Forstner bit kits, however. Those are just upsells. You can make the kit with standard 1 3/4, 1 1/2, 1 1/4, 1, and 7/8 bits that would come in a typical set that can be purchased for about $50. use an auger bit for the long body hole and don't bother with an extender.
