important as they are less likely to fall off and get lost - especially when moving around at the actual black tie event, whatever it is, causing people to say "Oh my! You've lost a stud.'" A missing black stud is very noticeable. White less so but white is, I think, more discreet and less glaringly contrasty. The cufflinks themselves ought not to be worn, ever. Just reach into your cufflink box and go for the gold or something, anything, more interesting.

I finally got to wear these cufflinks and buttons. 2 of the bars on the buttons broke while i was wearing them at a wedding. My return date is passed so I am stuck with this crap. Buyer beware.

I purchased this product for a white tie event . The spring back attachments may be used with the existing buttons there is no need to remove the button strip that is included with most good quality formal shirts . In fact the button strip helps to stabilize the studs. as opposed to the button thru styles.

The large back post kept it from popping through the shirt hole from the back, until one of the posts broke. I made it through the night using a toothpick to replace the metal. The front buttons are a little too small, so I had to re-button my shirt frequently. Had the post held together, and the buttons been a little bigger, these would have been perfect.

This is a beautiful set of studs and cufflinks for a formal shirt. They have the simple elegance my spouse and I were looking for in a set.One stud arrived a little scratched and the vendor replaced it i.m.m.e.d.i.a.t.e.l.y. by first class mail ~ arrived in two or three days from across the country in time for the event for which the studs were purchased.
