I replaced my old metal version with this product. It seems well made and it’s easier to wire because of the slip over rubber boot that goes on the wire before the connections are made.

Wanted to get the metal version but seemed to be sold out, this was just like the existing socket and replaced it easily.

Compared to other units this has brass pins with easy to grip flat blade/Philips screws. I recommend this Curt unit made in Tiwian not mainland China. Quality but inexpensive. Ad misstates as a splice in; but actually is the usual trim off insulation, place in the end of pin and tighten screws. Best I have found.

The plug comes with screw terminals which make connection to a wire harness very easy. The rear rubber dust cap also covers the connections to keep them dry and free of dirt.
