This hone kit seems nice but it's honestly not built very well. I would recommend spending the extra and getting a better set as this is something you don't want to mess up!

This Reywoo cylinder hone kit is well-built and highly adjustable, making it perfect for honing a wide range of cylinder sizes. The included stones provide a good surface finish, and the extra replacements are a great bonus. The tool feels sturdy, with smooth operation and consistent pressure for even honing. It works well with a hand drill and holds up under extended use. Ideal for engine work, brake cylinders, or any precision honing job. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable honing tool, this kit is a great value. Highly recommended for both DIYers and professionals!

After 16 years, my Echo blower's piston seized. Found a new piston rebuild kit and freed up the old piston. Used these hones as a way to ensure the block doesn't tear up the new piston ring and it did a great job of polishing out the old ring material. Don't go crazy when you're using this, you only need to smooth out the bore. Great kit!

These are nice to do small clean up jobs at the general shop level or maintenance but they not professional grade to be used for heavy use as in a engine rebuild / overhaul shop. I think due to the material they would not hold up to the daily use and abuse but like I stated works great for a quick cylinder hone occasionally.

i got a blow-molded case containing three hones. there are a set of stones installed on each hone, as well as three sets of replacement stones. the fit and finish of the hones is decent; however a few minutes work with a needle file improved the adjustment action considerably. the hones fit snugly into their niches in the case, but i found that the stones easily came loose so i am careful when opening it to make sure i don't drop them.this hone set works as well as others I've had in the past; you chuck up the hone in a low-speed drill and keep it moving constantly while the drill is turning. it takes a bit of practice so i recommend you train on scrap parts before working on something important. with a bit of patience you can get good results but it will never be as good as a shop can do with a rigid hone.all in all this is a solid hobbyist-level tool.

This is a pretty complete kit to have in your tool box. Don't expect to do major engine work with it, that's not what it's meant for. This kit is designed for cleaning up all sorts of cylinders. I personally like these types of kits for cleaning up brake calipers. The stones are sharp and leave a nice finish.

After many many years I needed a replacement for my ancient hone tool and can always find a use for other sizes. When I saw this set my thought was it should be a good one since it actually had a case. I was wrong. The first seven pics show the size and design flaws using a single size hone. The claim is it is good for sizes starting at 3/4". I used a jack handle to show how using even a larger bore won't accommodate this. Squeezing it together just enough to fit one of the leg tabs slips outside of the socket.Pic 4 is the result and the way it was in the case when it arrived and how it does when put back into the case. The first pic is claimed size bores and the 5th and 6th pics show actual closed and released sizes. The 7th pic shows damage to the cup from the legs slipping out.8, 9, and 10 show the large size claim, actual, and the irregular stop straight from the case. The 11th pic shows my old hone tool. Whether spread to the minimum or maximum there are no issues with binding or slipping past the seat.As for the case? These tools fit way too tight and could be easily damaged simply from removing them or stowing them. There were some included zip ties that I initially had no clue what they were for. Now I know they are for securing the hones back together to get them to fit into the case due to the force needed to close them. My old hone wouldn't need zip ties for that as they function smoothly enough to compress and secure. There was one hone that looked like it might be good, the one that doesn't have the cup type seat but it, along with the rest, have the binding and slipping issue. The stones aren't good quality either. They compare to one of the cheap sharpening stones you get from a discount store where simple sharpening leaves a mess of grit/sand/whatever during light sharpening. They won't last a fraction of the time my old one did.I won't be, and don't recommend, using these on anything where precision matters.I guess on an old cylinder that is about ready for the scrap pile, PVC or other pipe fittings, or something like that these will be okay while they last. Not a good product.
