They are hard foam, and do not work well.

I use them on almost every cymbal I have! I like that they don't compress much. I feel for some applications that is very helpful. They don't dampen the cymbal. To me they all maintain a little more of their brightness. That where I notice the most.

These are a great replacement to felts. In that regard, high marks! But if you're going for color (like I was), they're not bright red as pictured. I was hoping for a bright red pop! They're a bit of a dull pink-red mix. Not worth sending back...though they ARE a bit pricey.Again, they're great for the purpose they were designed. You could just go with black. But then why offer colors if they fail to deliver on that score. Maybe I just got a bad batch but be advised. I hope this helps someone. Cheers 🙂.
