I'm surprised there aren't more reviews on this item... I am upgrading some older cymbal stands as well as a cpl newer Mapex Rebel stands. They are currently 6mm studs, I believe... And the new industry standard is 8mm studs. These fit boom and straight stands just fine. They allow for tighter Cymbal fit as well as things like Stackers. The metal quality isn't quite as good as the factory clamps but still good enough to take a beating.. the Nut is plastic but it's not a problem... If it becomes a problem... I have spare 8mm metal wingnuts.
