About this item

  • Bi-directional control for 1 brushed DC motor.
  • Support motor voltage ranges from 7V to 30V (Rev2.0).
  • Maximum current up to 10A continuous and 15A peak (10 seconds).
  • 3.3V and 5V logic level input.
  • Fully NMOS H-Bridge for better efficiency and no heat sink is required.

This controller is able to regulate the speed of one DC motor with Arduino. Cytron 10A Motor Driver Shield (Arduino)"SHIELD-MD10" is a compatible Arduino motor shield for controlling high current brushed DC motor up to 10A continuously. It should be stacked on to an Arduino main controller board such as Arduino UNO R3.

Features:
  • Shield for Arduino
  • Speed controller to control one motor.
  • Bi-directional control for 1 brushed DC motor.
  • Support motor voltage ranges from 7V to 30V (Rev2.0).
  • Maximum current up to 10A continuous and 15A peak (10 seconds).
  • 3.3V and 5V logic level input.
  • Solid state components provide faster response time and eliminate the wear and tear of mechanical relay.
  • Fully NMOS H-Bridge for better efficiency and no heat sink is required.
  • Speed control PWM frequency up to 10KHz.
  • Stackable I/O header pin.
  • Selectable digital pins for PWM and DIR.
  • Made In Malaysia.

The purchase was kind of a shot in the dark, but it seemed to fit my needs close enough. It arrived and I just had to try it right away. I connected +12vdc to the power connector and my linear actuator to the motor block. No Arduino and no software, just the shield by itself. Powered it up and darned if the manual control buttons run the actuator perfectly!!Next was to connect it up with an Arduino Mega, download the library, write up a super quick piece of code based mainly on the example they provide. Boom! Worked like a champ!! I played around with speeds and run/stop times and it worked beautifully. The actuator LEDs (A/B) are a really nice touch that helps a lot with debugging.Like this little sucker so much I'm ordering another one! No, this is not another one of those 'Came packaged nicely and was delivered on time' type reviews. I'm building a very high end two-axis solar tracker for our motorhome and these controllers are going to be right in the middle of this design.

This board rocks!. Thanks to user David for the first review of this item. Used this to control a motor that was frying other motor shields. Very good quality. Highly recommended!

Lots of runtime and it works flawlessly. Downloadable example to show how to configure pins (i'd prefer an I2C, but this works), and ... it just works. I really love the LED indicators showing the PWM value (variable intensity), and there are 2 LEDs for showing forward and reverse. Using the LEDs, you can debug before hooking it up to a motor.BTW:A coding trick in the example of -pwm values kind of threw me for a loop for a moment. An example like this would be better to be verbose and have a separate flag to indicate direction. pwm values are ... like one would expect ... 0-255.update: still running.
