  • Firstly please make sure each tile is larger than 4.8*4.8 inch, then you only need to make sure that the 4 linear ends of 2 suction cup can fall in the tile without touching tile seam.

  • It would work properly if the surface of the tub is flat and smooth, if the surface you apply it on is curved or round it will not get adequate suction. Make sure the area is dry and clean when you apply the suction cups.

  • It depends on the surface, the less porous surface leads to the longer vacuum suction. It is suggested to check the safety indicator to see if the red edge is visible everytime before use, if visible, the bar should be reapplied.

  • Yes, it is. And it is rust-resistant. If you apply the grab bar correctly before use, water will have no affect on any of its effect.

  • Yes, as long as the surface of the door you apply this product on is flat and smooth, i.e. glass door and steel door.

Does not stay mounted on the wall even though I cleaned the surface with alcohol as directed. Falls off after 4-5 hours. Really May be defective but I would return it for a replacement

I have hip arthritis and need some place to lean when I get in and out of our 70-year-old tub/shower that has be resealed with a vinyl/plastic. We have had the 17" handle installed for two months now under the bathroom window. Being very careful before using it and checking each time, I have not even removed it once as directed to reapply. I think if you used an elephant to pull it off it would remove the tub wall and the handle would remain attached. ;DWhen I climb out of the tub after showering, I need this handle on the right to lean towards the left as I hold on to a great little guard rail and lift my left leg over the tub rim.. A month later, I purchased the smallest handle and installed it under the shower head area to use when lifting out the shower sprayer. That one, too, works great. About the latter, after a month I am beginning to see a little of the red indicator but the handle remains solidly attached. I will be removing it and reapplying as directed this week, however. I suspect that that part of the shower wall changes temperature and gets wet, affecting the suction just a little.Installation: I cleaned the wall surface with rubbing alcohol before applying the handle. It went on smoothly, but if you have problems with putting pressure on your hands, ask someone for help. You really have to push the latch hard, because it seems to compress the material (a soft very thick vinyl-like material) to create the vacuum. It's amazing. By the way, there's a review here from a large gentleman using it to lift himself out of the tub itself. It sold me, and he is quite right about how strong these handles are. Remember, the surface cannot be one listed as "do not use". It needs to be a smooth surface like plastic.I waited half a year before buying one. Don't wait as it is really a good product and has helped me navigate the tub immensely. Even my strong, muscular adult son wants one for his apartment so he doesn't have to touch a yucky wall. The handle is well-constructed. The bar in the center is very short on the small. I have small hands and one hand just fits. Plenty of room on the 17 inch (the one that has been up the longest and shows no signs of de-vacuuming.) I'd ask the manufacturer to revisit the handle itself...it consists of horizontal grooves very close together intended to make it non-slip. My grab bar, which is only enamel paint is less "slidy". Something about those grooves when they are wet make your hand slide back and forth, so I dry it with a towel before exiting the tub. Nothing dangerous but does not feel grippy.

My OT sister recommended these suction grab bars, insisted really and they are indeed much much more sturdy then the cheaper plastic versions out on the market. I trust these with my mother.

This portable grab bar is great. Very easy to install and use, and easy to remove and place somewhere else. It’s good died and very sturdy. And the best feature is that it holds really well, we installed it in a small shower and my friend hanged on to it, actually lifting his feet off the floor for a full minute. He weighs 180 and gave it his best effort. The grab bar held tight! It’s rated for 253 lbs and I suspect it will hold well even at that weight. It does have to be attached to a clean dry smooth surface—no wood, wall board or sheet rock. Tile woul be iffy because of the uneven surface of the grout lines, but if you could apply it to a clean tile surface making sure the suction cups stayed on tile and not grout it would like hold well. There are certainly cheaper portable grab bars, but safety is a priority, and this item is worth every penny. We recommend it!

I looked at a lot of these types of bars. From Menards, Lowes, etc. to online. I ran across these, and they were way more than what I had expected to pay. I think they were out of stock when I placed my order and had to wait a while before they came. I am so glad I did. The person they are for is very weak and unstable on their feet and cannot navigate getting into the shower without grab bars. The shower is a high-quality, smooth shower surround placed during the construction of the home and does not have thin flexible walls. I am not sure how well these will work on cheaper, thinner walled shower units. However, for my application, there is enough flat wall space to attach these bars. As instructed in the provide documentation, I made sure that the walls were cleaned and dried. The material is very strong and appears to be very good quality. Each suctioned end has a tab that needs to be pushed in that creates the suction. This was my only concern. It took a good amount of push to get the tab to go in place. Which I thought was good because it was probably due to creating a good suction. Bad because it would be too hard for someone with a strength disability to push the tabs in. Also, if they cannot get in the shower anyways without support, they would not be able to place them. I say this because it is not a onetime install. It is suggested that these be removed and set again every week to ensure that the suction is still secure. It will take someone other than the person using them to install. Once I had them in place, they would simply not budge. They felt like they were part of the shower unit. The tabs were easier to lift up to release the bars than to push them down. A few of times, the bars still stick to the wall after release. The first time I thought, "uh oh, how am I going to get these off?", but just a little wiggling and they worked loose. VERY glad I purchased these. I am very confident that they will provide the support needed and be secure for the user.
