If you read the BC tidal fishing regulations, you will find these are illegal to use for crab.

This thing worked great! I bought 2 of em at once and also used both of em st once and caught my limit of crabs in 2 hours! I didn’t need to add any sinkers it was already weighed enough for a good long cast out into the ocean.

Snare lines slide well, and easy to remove from crab legs. My favorite snare

Great little crab snare! Easy to hook up and cast. It was very fun to feel a crab at the end of the line when reeling in. Very good addition to your crab trip.

I just got this in and very disappointed. This is due to poor assembly. The loops are attached to the cage incorrectly. They should be oriented vertically to keep the loop from laying flat on the floor. All of the loops lay flat and will only catch a crab by luck. I’m here is no way for them to tangle.I am returning this. It so obvious it will not work.I made some changes to help but would rather just send back. Here’s a picture maybe they can see what it should look like. Even though this isn’t right either it would be better.

Didn’t manage to catch any crab with this one. My guess is that the hoops are too thick to hang onto crabs. Another brand that we bought from bass pro shop worked much better.

Used one of these in the New England surf. Worked great with a 3-oz bank sinker zip-tied to the bottom. Creek Chub was the bait that worked best for me. I fished this about six times and caught eight rock crabs in a few hours on my best day. 20-pound line is a bare minimum for these, I did end up snapping one off due to the 20lb line. Thirty or fifty pound mono is probably what you want. Twelve foot surf rod works great on the jetty, but I like a 7 foot when I'm fishing these off the beach. Use a big reel too - Diawa DF100A is a good cheap reel for crab snares since it's huge. I destroyed a cheap 4000-size reel this summer reeling these snares in.

A bit smaller than I imagined it to be, but it gets the job done. The set up is a sturdy cube with the top hooking into the side and a rubber band to keep the box from opening. It is tough enough to deter seal lions from eating my baits after a few tries. The snare works pretty well, I was able to get several crabs with it. Well worth the money though.
