There's a reason Danmar beaters are so highly rated, the quality in the construction. I still have my cherry red wooden beater that I used years ago in a hard rock touring band and it still looks brand new. This humble little beater is awesome. It has the perfect amount of mass and just the right texture and firmness for punch and fullness. For my fellow 18” kickers out there, you will not need to shorten the shaft (unless you insist on the beater striking dead center, which is a fool’s errand). Enjoy!

Very high quality, but did not fit in the hole of a Tama Iron Cobra pedal. I had to return this, which is too bad, because this sounded incredible when I struck it with my hand against the drum head. The pedals it works with need to be listed in the description.

Love these beaters from Danmar. I’ll be using these on most of my pedals. Way more punch and attack than factory beaters.

I like the weight and sound. What I didn't like was that it rattled because the top and bottom washers were not tight to the felt. Thick waxed floss fixed it, but I really shouldn't have to do that. Would have given it five stars if not for the poor build-quality.

Love the classic beater. You definitely get a deeper tone than with the smaller modern beaters, no question about that. This design is timeless. I just replaced one after a decade or so because the felt does smash up (I used it that way for a flat hit), but it's just like drum sticks, gotta renew it from time to time. I never looked into adjusting my pedal's cam for a more flat response because the feel is there. Coated PS3 batter, clear (or FS PS3) reso, off center felt on both sides, no holes - a real man's bass drum!

I like the weight, balance and tone I get with this. Really gives me a Bonhamesque boom with my old Ludwig Standard bass drum and DW5000 Accelerator pedal.Recommended.
