This is by far one of my favorite drum accessories. This kick pad serves two major purposes for me. First is that the pad adds clickiness (ie more high frequency/attack). This is very nice to have if you play double bass, as the hits become more defined, reducing the rumbling sound that can be associated with fast double bass playing. This also makes it easier to hear the bass drums when you are wearing ear plugs or in ear monitors. The second major reason I use these is the added durability on my bass drum heads. I play very hard. I often stomp down on the bass drum as hard as I can. I have not broken a bass drum head since using this.A smaller perk is that the rebound of the bass drum beater is added when using these pads.The only downside to this pad is that applying this pad is hard to do without wrinkles forming on the sticker part. Also, The sticker part tears after a while, and I did have one pad fall off before.Overall, this is a great product.
