On the whole, I love this thing. I travel a ton for work and like to bring projects with me when I can. For any projects requiring lighter weight yarn, or projects with perfect yarn cakes, this is perfect. The only place i've run into issues is when I'm using something like the Bernat blanket yarn or some of the heavier weight yarns. The yarn balls are too big for the holder and don't allow it to spin. That said, I so seldom travel with heavy weight yarn that it isn't that big of a deal. Overall very glad with this purchase.

Got for a christmas gift for my roommate as she always crochets when we go to markets or in the car when I drive. She loves it and can't wait to use it.

Bought this for my daughter who has fallen in love with crochet. It arrived right in time for her birthday and her friends are asking to get it as well. She can go anywhere with her yarn without getting it tangled.

This 3-piece wool minder is exactly what I expected. Simple, basic even, but a handy tool for yarnies. The strap length is perfect for walk and knit - and if you add a carabiner to it - you can place on an extended luggage handle when traveling, no run-away yarn at the airport!Small enough to stash in just about any knit bag and works yarn cakes perfectly.I wish the bottom was flat for putting down on a table, but most aren't and it is as I expected (you can put it down on a table, but it will not stand upright for use from a table).I think it's a bit high priced, as there is no inlay design; it's a simple 1 color plastic - but not overly so and still worthy of 5 stars if you're just looking for a basic wool minder.

I got this for a friend that travels and knits. She said it works well to keep everything organized!

I'm a beginner knitter. I've never used one of these before. I thought it might be too heavy on my arm or make knitting more difficult, but I barely notice it. It seems to work just fine. I want to be able to stand and knit or walk around, because sitting down hunched over for too long hurts my back. I might get a project back to protect the project for getting dirty if I want to take my knitting with me, but this works at home. No complaints. Is it necessary to begin knitting? Absolutely not. So if you want to save money (knitting costs add up quickly), I'd save on this one. You could take any basket or a smaller shopping bag/gift back/whatever you have lying around and use it by putting it around your wrist or just keep the bag on the floor and stand up.
