Can’t comment on motor quality yet because I haven’t put it into service. I was not expecting a plastic drive gear. How is that supposed to reliably start an engine? If I ever use this starter It will only be if I can swap the metal gear from the factory starter.

I read a lot of the reviews with people saying this is garbage you need a metal pinion gear.Yes you need a metal one if your flywheel is metal. If your flywheel has a nylon ring gear you will be fine with this starter with a “plastic” pinion gear. When you research your mower it should give you 2 starter part numbers. One with a metal pinion gear and the other nylon.Anyways I am happy with my purchase it works perfectly!!!!

It bolted up with no problems. Wiring connector on mower fit and it starts my lawnmower.

Everything worked fine...except only for about 1 year worth of usage. Plastic gear instead of metal, so the plastic wore away and now is useless. Tried to get them to do the right thing and address the problem so I would not have to write this review, but they gave me the cold should and said it wasn't their problem...

Hello, my order was listed as delivered and I had not received my starter. I filed a complaint and one arrived 2 days later. It was easy to install and does it's job flawlessly so far. I'm pretty rough on my drive mower so only time will tell about it's longevity, but my hat is off to a timely response in getting my order filled and delivered..

I installed it on my Intek V-twin 20 horse Briggs & Stratton. It was an almost identical replacement , like that very much. It was very difficult looking at the pictures to find the right starter motor and I was prepared to have to send it back, but that wasn’t the case thank goodness..

Bought this start to replace on my mid to late 90s Toro 8-25 lawn tractor. Was able to find a parts list on the Toro website and typed in the Toro Part number into Amazon. The description indicated that this was a direct replacement for the Toro(Briggs and Stratton) part. I had my doubts but to my surprise, after removal of the old starter, it bolted right up. After reassembly of the parts that I removed to install, I hit the key and the starter engaged and the engine fired right up. The starter came with a shim, in my case it was not required. I gave ease of installation 4 stars but that has nothing to do with the starter itself, rather the process required to get to the starter. Since it was only first evening I used the starter, I am unable to rate the longevity, am curious to see how long it will last. So far, I am pleased.
