This fit my 1952 8n perfectly ! installed it in the original location screwed the cable in and it works ! definitely recommend this! I ordered a water temperature gauge from the same manufacturer so the would match but unfortunately it does not function

Tachometer was shipped very fast one day delivery. Installed in Tractor next day and it works perfectly. Many reviews stated there wasn’t a light on their tach but to my surprise mine has a light. Very satisfied with this highly recommended.

Worked for almost 2 hours, then the internal gears froze up and it's now useless. Looks nice, though.

So this review is more of a how to make it better and last much longer.1st. you need to inspect the gauge for flaws around the top edge of the threads where the cable screws on make sure you take off the o-ring first [see photo#1]2nd clean the edge with a razor knife or exacto blade so it is flat and smooth out with a file [see photo #2, 3]3rd. clean the dust off and replace the original o-ring with a new o-ring [see photo # 4]4th. screw on cable and see if the cable has any play in it by pushing and pulling the other end of the cable. If it does not have any play, you will have to replay with a thicker o-ring or double up on it like I did [see photo # 5, 6]5th check your end play and you should have some movement [photo # 7] of at least 3 to 5 mm6th it is a good Idea to wrap some teflon tape around the threads, for two reason, to stop moister from building up in the gauge and to keep the thread from locking onto the nut, so you can add lube when the needle starts to jump. [see photo # 8]7th Add lube it the end of the cable and lube inside the cable [see photo #9]8th and finally you attach the cable to the gauge and screw tight, checking to make sure you still have end play and the cable housing doesn't spin. If that is correct, attach a drill to the other end and slowly turn to see if the needle starts to move and bring it up to full speed while holding the cable as straight as possible to see if the needle jumps badly. [see last photo].This will give you a long happy life with your aftermarket low cost Proof-meter/tacho. [FYI it works on all rotary gauges]Good Luck
