Hesitant about buying electrical items on Amazon but buying this Voltage Regulator and installing it myself saved me well over $250. Shop quoted $99 diagnostic, $105 for the regulator, and $150 to install. It wasn't that hard to install. Just make sure you seal the two wire connections with a good electronic grade silicone to prevent water from leaking into the connection.

Was having charging issues. Lights would get really bright, dash lights would turn off, and my battery light would come on because it wasn't charging. All symptoms of a failed voltage regulator. Swapped this one in and all my issues are gone

Don’t buy this product from this seller. I had 2 voltage regulators that did not work, and it has been OVER 60 DAYS since they received the item back and no refund or communication has been conducted. I will be filing an official complaint as they say up to 30 days for a refund and it has now been over 60. Awful seller and a product that does not work. ZERO STARS. worst seller I’ve ever dealt with. Unbelievable.

Was having intermittent voltage issues. Stock regulator from Harley was expensive. This item fit perfectly and fixed my voltage problem on my 2010 heritage

2008 Softail FXSTC. The factory voltage regulator has recessed mounting locations that allow the head of the factory bolt to sit flush with the shell, thus allowing the threads to protrude further behind the unit. This VR has very shallow mounting locations which does not allow the head to flush, and thus does not allow the threads to protrude far enough to get a solid bite at the bracket. I was able to modify the hole with a drill bit to allow for the required recess.Aside from this, the unit works as intended. Voltage test read between 13.8-14.6 after installation so the unit works, but look closely at those bolt holes in the photo compared to the ones on your bike. All the other comments said it bolted up okay, this is just my experience. Yes, I could've purchased longer bolts but I live 40 minutes from the nearest hardware store so I opted to shave the aluminum in 2 minutes.
