Push force comes from weak spring seen in picture and the pull force is weak as well. 600g of force is over 1 pound of force and this seems to deliver less than that. Have to send this one back.

I'm going to use it to ring a bell. Should work fine.The only drawback I see is that there's no clearance between the wire coils and the frame where the mounting holes are located. You'll get maybe two full turns on the screws before they touch the coils. Other than that, I'm pleased with it.

Nice solenoid - great quality, but it did not have near the pull of 600g and did not draw 1A it was only drawing about 600ma and was getting very hot so duty cycle is very short before overheating occurs. Did not meet requirements so back it went.
