This piece is for my Inspirion 15 7579 and the installation was easier than kindergarten English. It was too easy and now I know the problem was never my laptop charger. I'm so happy right now.

Last time I had the repair shop fix it it cost $200. I was determined to save some money next time. I received this item I was able to install it in an hour and it works perfectly.

Took minutes to install and it fit and works perfectly. No bending or twisting of any of the wires. Everything was oriented properly for my model. Also replaced the battery and charger at the same time. Computer is working as it should again.

My wife's charging port on an Inspiron 15 2-in-1 model 5579 was acting funny. It wasn't the charger, since my other 5579 wasn't having issues with it. I replaced the jack with this part and it's back in business. My only complaint is that the cables look fairly fragile, so you need to be super careful installing. But this does fit the 5579, even though it's not explicitly mentioned. Many of these Dells use the same parts, but for some reason 5579 is almost never mentioned. For a few bucks, I'm happy, though I imagine it's hit or miss with the QC on these things.

When plugging into the new jack I noticed the fit for the power cord was a little tight (which is fine), works as advertised. Happy with the purchase.

There are plenty of videos that will show you how to get the back of off your laptop and the screws you need to remove to replace the power connector. We had lightning strikes and, thinking it fried my power cord/transformer bought a new one. WrongO!! The connector pin was broken. Apparently a common issue with the Dell Laptops. This is a super easy repair and it works like new. BTW, as long as you've got to take off the back panel, probably a good time to switch out that battery. Its literally 4 screws and a 3 year old can do it.

Wires did not fit as well as the original but it was easy to install nonetheless and has been working well for months now. I would purchase again without hesitation.
