Used this in some arduino projects to provide a consistent power to variety parts of circuit. It works flawlessly. The power it provides is more than enough for my purpose. The display is easy to read. Adjusting voltage is straight forward. It does not occupy much space. It is also very convenient to carry around with my projects. In some of my projects I need to make sure to limit the current just in case some thing goes wrong in my connection. This power supply does just that. I can be assured even something goes wrong, my circuit is still protected from any accident wrong connection.

This bench power supply is probably more than I need. I rarely do electronics work and usually that work is with small computing devices that provide their own power throughout the lifetime of the project. This one I needed for use with part of a shooting gallery game I am working on with my son and so far I have had no issues with this product. There is another reviewer who mentioned the 115/230 switch in the back of the unit, which I think a lot of the other reviewers missed in the manual. I wish I could speak more knowledgeably about how this regulates power and some of the more complex features this offers, but I have needed it only twice so far, and for fairly minimal usage. The display is bright and easy to read. The unit has a good feel as the siding is metal and not made of plastic. I think it you are a hobbyist or just getting started out, this is probably the product you want.

As someone who makes and fixes things a lot, I should have gotten one of these power supplies eons ago. I didn’t have this thing out of the box for a day before an opportunity to use it came up, It was very handy to be able to dial up a simulated battery input without having to hack something together. The device itself seems well designed and well built. It’s not so big as to be intrusive in a small workshop. It’s easy to dial in the current that you need. The display is large and free of clutter. I suspect it will become an indispensable tool in my garage.

Works well as a hobbyist benchtop power supply. Note, it arrived with the 115/230V switch set to 230 and therefore wouldn't regulate over 25V until I discovered and fixed that. I see a number of reviews complaining about limited voltage and current. This is likely the cause. What I like: It's good for a range of low-voltage applications, and has a current output high enough to cover most needs. With both over-current-protection mode and constant-current mode, you can choose your poison. The display is clear and bright. I also like that ground and return are electrically separate, and each has its own banana plug on the front.I don't like that every adjustment (100mV or 10mA) emits a loud beep. Its a lot of knob twisting and beeping when making adjustment.Once the output is enabled, the voltage and current readouts show the live value. When OCP is enabled, the output voltage shuts off at the threshold and beeps loudly. When OCP is not enabled, the supply maintains a constant current while the output voltage drops. The voltage and current settings can be adjusted while the output is enabled. To test its ability to regulate, I put it on a ~3Ω resistive load (a carbon fiber heating element). I set the voltage to regulate at 5V, and limited the current to 2A. The supply did not regulate to 5.0V when under this load; the voltage sagged down 2% to 4.89V. I modified the load to switch on and off at 1Hz 50% duty cycle, and the supply tolerated the load. The USB port supported the same 3Ω load without issue. It has a fan in the back, but I didn't drive it hard enough to cause it to turn on.In the box is the power supply, AC cord, alligator clips, well-written user manual. Supply itself weighs 1.123kg.Is it worth the $70 sticker price? There are plenty of similar options on the market. Given that this one didn't regulate well under load, and this is one of the pricier options, I'd shop around.

This bench power supply is intended to appeal to the value-conscious hobbyist, a market segment that should be very concerned with having a constant voltage supply with variable current. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product because despite advertising CC/CV modes, there is no way to switch between the modes. The unit attempts to automatically detect what mode the user might want, but the algorithm looks like it's mainly focused on charging batteries.Pros:- Very readable screen- Supplies constant current well, so could be good for testing batteries or LED strips- Can provide rated current- Easy to use interface- No ripple on the oscilloscopeCons:- Cannot provide rated 30v, limited to around 25.5v- Seems stuck in constant current mode, unsuitable even to power a raspberry pi without voltage alerts- Severe voltage sag; in 5v range claims to provide 5.1v @ 5a when actually providing 4.7v. At 25v will sag up to 17.5v @ 5aOverall, this is a good-looking unit but the lack of a button to switch CV/CC modes really hurts it in the core market space of the value-conscious hobbyist who is less concerned with constant current and requires constant voltage.

For context: For context: we took up "maker" type hobbies a few years ago to give us something to do when the pandemic was closing in-person venues. We've cobbled together a number of projects, including radios, sensors, automation devices that rely on precise voltages - sometimes rather unusual ones solely for testing sub-systems.We'd been relying on discrete components to output the power we needed when testing but this switching power supply makes it a snap to just dial in the voltage needed, and the amperage dial will limit current to avoid having an over-current situation that damages delicate sub-systems. Controls are super easy to use, even without referring to the manual.Despite being a switching (versus linear) power supply, we haven't noticed any particularly egregious RFI issues. We would, however, suggest that you wrap the power cord through a mix-31 toroid several times to tame any RFI that might creep in.Top marks, recommended!
