These padded shorts are the best I’ve owned in 15yrs of mtb riding. No more sore sit bones after riding. I also got a Desoto narrow seat pad and the combo is perfect- zero discomfort during or after riding. They blow away Castelli and Pearl Izumi shorts and bibs.

crazy expensive compared to what I have, but they are comfortable when I ride in my extremely hard saddle. hopefully they will last and remain comfortable the entire time. I only have about 100 miles on them so far. *cost is the missing 5th star

I have purchased many shorts over the last ten years of cycling more than 80,000 miles. Some good, some not. These are among the best I have used. In the end, the shorts are only on part of the equation for the long endurance rides of 100 to 200 miles in a day. I expect these to do very well on those century rides as they have done on the shorter 60-70 mile rides so far, especially on the back-to-back days. The sweating wicking action on these is also very good because of the construction and the thick padding keeps from getting saturated. They are very expensive for cycling shorts, but that should not be a big concern because good shorts should last a long time if you take care of them and you won't ride if you are not comfortable. I think these are great shorts, but maybe an overkill for the casual rider, but if you don't mind the cost, why not be as comfortable as is possible. As a side, I want to add that the saddle is a bigger part of the endurance comfort equation. If your saddle is not right, no short is going to compensate. So, people who are looking to solve saddle discomfort should evaluate both items.

The 400-Mile Shorts have been a favorite for going on a year. They are still in great condition. I spend roughly 95% of my rides in the saddle and ride distances up to 50 miles on the weekends. I ride a Madone SLR with Arvada Elite saddle which does not offer any comfort, so a well padded chamois is a must. The 14mm pad in these shorts has been great. There one additional feature to these shorts I absolutely love, the leg pockets. They are the perfect side for GU Gels with an unexpected benefit. Keeping the GU Gels in the leg pocket warms them up which makes the gel a little thinner and easier to consume.

I have done three Ironman triathlons using these shorts. Can’t swim in them but I did bike and run the marathon. After 7 years I’m getting back into Tri and looking to buy these again. Amazing comfort!!!

Somewhat new to the tri world. A friend highly recommend these shorts. They are amazing!! Today was the first time I've biked and not had a sore butt. Everyone kept saying I would get used to it. A few months in, I was still sore. I rode 30 miles today (longest ride yet), and it was comfortable. I also ran 4 miles afterward in the shorts. No problems there either. I'm really happy with the product. I haven't tried them swimming yet because they recommend not using these in a chlorinated pool. It's all I have access to at the moment. Seriously, worth every penny.
