Nice fabrication and finish. Tank does not have internal baffles as described. Functions as expected. Great looking transfer tank.

The bung is on the rounded side 3 inches from the bottom. That's a lot of lost volume. Because the bung is where it is, and because I have a gooseneck hitch, my options are pipe the fuel through the front of the bed or toward the tailgate and route it back arround the side, it also forces the filler cap to be opposite my trucks filler neck(mine is on driver side). It doesnt come with baffles like the description says. I'm going to make it work, but I wouldn't recommend it for a short bed/gooseneck combo. A second bung on the flat bottom side would have been a cureall. They should also have put the fill cap spots in opposite corners so you had options. It was cheaper than most, and it can work, but bad design decisions limit it too much to recommend. Truck is an 08 Chevy 2500hd short bed with a b&w gooseneck hitch.

I have had this for about 5 months now and I cannot even begin to tell you how nice it is to pull my tractor up and fill up from my own tank. This eliminated running back and forth to the gas station with 5 gallon containers to fill up - especially when you are in the middle of a job. No rust, no leaks, and easy to handle. I have mine attached to a skid so I use my tractor to load onto my truck to take it to fill up once in a blue moon. Very happy with the product.

For some reasons my local source has stopped stocking aluminum tanks----preferring steel tanks. Knowing that Dee Zee is the gold standard, I looked for another source. Fortunately, the tank I wanted on Amazon, and immediately ordered it. The tank is the same high quality tank that I used to purchase locally. Delivery was ahead of schedule. This tank, like my older ones has a 2 inch bung hole for a transfer pump and another bung hole for a fill cap that comes with the tank.

The product description says that this tank has 3 Baffles in it and comes with a lockable cap. My tank arrived in only 3 business days which was great! It arrived in good condition which was also great! But after unboxing it I found that it didn't come with a locking cap as advertised, no big deal, I don't really care about that, but there were no baffles inside the tank. I heard something rattling around inside the tank when I'd tip it from side to side. I thought it might be some hardware for mounting or something but turns out it was about a 2" wide piece of Aluminum "Square Tubing" about 5x5 inches square just floating around inside the tank! I called DEE ZEE and the poor Customer Service gal didn't know what it could be and acknowledged that it should not be in the tank. My first thought was maybe you're supposed to put the pump pickup tube inside that square, but that didn't make any sense to me either. I have no idea why they put a 5x5 piece of square tubing inside this tank. I just found out what the square piece is. It's supposed to have been tack welded to the underside of the top of the tank around the bung's I presume to act as an anti-slosh barrier to help keep fuel from sloshing around the fill and pump bung's and leaking. You can see it on the one photo I posted inside the left front Bung. Apparently the two tiny tack's you can see on the loose piece in the tank did not hold and either came off during shipment. My first thought was why didn't they catch this at the factory but it may have broke loose during shipment. In any case it clearly shows me that DEE ZEE needs to put some additional quality control on their welding and probably be a good idea to make these an inspection point prior to welding the tanks closed. You can see in the photo those two tiny tacks are hardly enough for an industrial strength product. It's not hurting anything that I can tell and I could just leave it in there but it's not supposed to be there, so I'm going to try and fish it up to one of the bung holes and hopefully a pair of tin snips will cut it so I can then bend it and fish it through the 2" opening. I'm hoping it will fit through there. I don't know if this model is actually supposed to have baffles or if that is just another faulty product description on Amazon. The tank seems sturdy enough to me and I don't think the baffles are really necessary since it will be bolted down on my 24ft gooseneck trailer, I'm not too worried about 55 gallons of fuel shifting around in the square tank too much. The finish is nice and shiny and it looks like a nice tank, but because of these issues I'm only giving it 3 stars for it's OK. Actually I may return it for another one, not sure yet.

Works great after some minor modifications of my own. It could have been 5 stars if the drain on the tank was not 2" off the bottom of the tank which left 5 gallons inside that could not be used for the vehicle, after my modification, I get almost all the fuel out of the tank.
