Application was the best of any paint I have used in years because was very opaque (solid without variations), wet overlap allowed simple 2 coat finish (by 4 boards at a time which 2 boards 1st coat & 2 boards 2nd coat), 1st coat dry time was perfect pace for my 41ft long deck going end to end (adjust number of boards for timing), narrow 3/8 nap by 6in rollers worked perfect (replace every gallon so you do not need to work as hard), for hairline cracks this paint easily coats/fills (roll perpendicular to grain on cracks then with grain to finish), drying paint did not peel up onto roller or track on my feet ever and great consistency to stick to roller and not drip or fling off.

I like it but it is the first time I ever used dark stain. I have had to touch it up here and there. I seem/need to be more careful moving the deck furniture around because of that, but otherwise all is good, and the deck looks beautiful.

The the dark drown stain looks great. I had the pergola power washed and applied the stain once it dried. It has been about 15 months since this photo was taken and the stain hold up well. I only applied one coat with a paint brush without wiping off the stain (somewhat thick)

Purchased light walnut. For some reason It only looks like color on a paint sample (piece of plastic, side of can). On the dock it looks close enough in afternoon sun, or shade, but in direct sunlight it has a pinkish reddish tone, more like redwood. annoying. (Especially after using 6 bottles). It toned down a bit once it cured. Oh well. But it was nice and thick which is good for an old dock that had cracks. It took us a lot more paint than indicated on the bottle, but that seems common for paints. Maybe on a new, less absorbent wood it would take less. Will see how it holds up to winter rains and summer heat and sun. Would have given 4 if it hadn’t been for the color issue. (5 if it holds up)
