This is a great map when hunting in the North Maine woods. Very accurate and easy to follow. I don't leave home without it.

Can't tell you how many of these I've gone through since moving to Maine 25 years ago. I use them until the pages start ripping, then ask for a replacement as a Christmas gift. I live in downcast Maine, very rural, and love wandering down roads just to see where they end up. Even now, there are a lot of areas around here that are just big blank spots on GPS, so this book is a must for safety purposes for me. In addition, all of the extras (parks, campgrounds, places and things to see/do, boat ramps) are great for ideas about places to go and things to see.

Even with the advent of GPS and mapping systems, hard copy c=gazetteers are so useful for many things. This one is a virtual what to do list when visiting Maine—arks, hiking trails, picnic spots, beaches, camping, etc all in addition to excellent and up-to-date maps in easy to find segments for the state. Great as a gift for someone visiting Maine.

The north woods in Maine has logging roads that change constantly and this atlas is the most updated. As a fisherman and hunter I will always have a Maine Atlas and Gazetteer in my vehicle at all times.

Purchased this book for a trip to Maine based on a travel site recommendation. This book really came in handy as we like to drive around on back roads. Areas are broke into individual maps that show all roads in that area. Made it super easy to figure out where we were and where we wanted to go. Having this map allowed us confidence to go off the beaten path because we knew we wouldn't get lost. It is a large book that can make it a bit unwieldy but if you are used to an atlas or paper map, you shouldn't have any issues with this book. Google Maps will show you where you are, but this book shows you all the other possibilities. So glad we had this book on our trip!

Perfect gift for my husband who was complaining all the maps he found have several states and he wanted a map of Maine alone. Nice size, similar to complete USA Atlas I've had in the car for years.We use our phones for mapping but it is nice to have a paper version too.

All the Delorme Atlases are a great addition to a trip. Yeah, I know you have GPS, we all have it but you don't use a Delorme Atlas for directions, although you can! You use it to find the places you want your GPS to take you to. Laying a paper map over your lap makes it easy to see what's around you. We got our first one, The Florida Atlas and Gazeteer nearly 40 years ago and wore the covers off the first one and nearly off the second.

Maine is by far the largest of the states in New England. It has more than its fair share of country roads, county roads, and back roads. Fortunately, many of these lead to the most interesting ponds, lakes, rivers, wildlife refuges, seacoasts, and other attractions. This updated DeLorme Maine Atlas and Gazatteer is your guide to the state's highways and byways.This atlas follows the expected DeLorme format, with a couple of big maps of the whole state; an index of place names; a listing of parks, campgrounds, and recreation areas; a map of all the townships in the state; and grid maps of the entire state. The back end of the atlas has close-up maps of the major population centers. The grid maps are in color and include height contour lines. The maps are really detailed enough for off-road adventures.In recent years, more land in Maine has been set aside for preservation and public use. This includes the under-developed but promising Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, just east of the ever-popular Baxter State Park. A very useful atlas, very well recommended.
