I'm in a band that wears all kinds of costumes and stage clothes when we perform, and this was a perfect addition to my collection. (I graduated with an advanced professional degree many years ago, so a graduation gown was moot for me.High quality garment, with doctoral hood, tam, and roomy gown. Order by your actual HEIGHT, because they are all about the same chest fit. Rich colors......I have the blue, with blue and gold on the separate hood.Soft, heavy velvet material. Good zipper.NOTE: graduate tassels are never moved, as they are during graduation from high school or undergraduate ceremonies, and the tassel is fixed to the top of the tam, and should be worn with the tassel on the LEFT at all times.Very good value, if you are in academics, and wear a gown at the yearly event, or simply want to keep your doctoral graduation gown.

It's getting to be that time of year, where the regalia has to be dusted off and worn to send off the next batch of students to an unwary world. :)Oddly, while styles haven't changed much for a few hundred years (as opposed to my tuxedo), the regalia does tend to wear out after a time. My sense with this set is that it will last for a reasonable period of time. Materials are quite good, and sizing is right on point. The colors may or may not create controversy depending on if your institution demands particular colors for a department. But so what...this is a good item and I like it quite a bit. No one has given me grief yet, and it's doubtful anyone will. Good product.

100/100I wasn't sure what I was expecting since this was listed as a "costume/cosplay" item. It's a really good quality affordable Doctoral Gown. I was honestly flabbergasted when I opened it. The packaging left a lot to be desired, but all in all . . . THIS is a GREAT deal!Is it suitable for "everyday" faculty wear? I'd say no. For the wear and tear of regular use, you'd probably want a better quality garment, but if you only need it a couple of times a year, THIS is a GREAT DEAL!The material is a better quality than I was expecting, the velvet looks incredible, it's just awesome for the price! I'd rate the quality of this garment with the higher end pulpit robes I've seen and used at nice, well appointed churches. Significantly better than the average graduation gown or choir robe. It is heavy enough that after a short wear, it's pretty hot . . . if that gives you an idea of the "weight".I really just cannot say enough about this garment, how thrilled I am with it, or how many compliments it has already received. Pretty much everyone that's seen it has commented on how good it looks.Ultimately, is it worth the price? Absolutely!

If you need regalia, you know expensive it can be. My basic regalia from a well known company was $600 when I bought it 15 years ago. The fact that you can buy a set of regalia for under $150 is pretty remarkable. I ordered the red and it bright red and not maroon. Here's my take:The Good:- The price point.- Quality of the fabric good, but not high end.- It is a complete set with gown, hood, and tam.Things You Should Know- It is very long and very big through the body. I'm 6'0" and it comes nearly to my ankles. I'd worry about walking upstairs in it.- There are no pockets and no slits to access your pants pocket.- The shoulders are sewn in such a way that they don't set evenly easily. I had to adjust it and readjust it.- The sleeves have a long cuff on them almost like a shirt sleeve. This may decrease air circulation.- The tam has velcro to adjust the size, but still seems small to me.- The hood has a button for the cord to attach in the back, but there is no button loop. You'd need to create one.- The zipper pull is on the left side, not the right.If you need regalia and don't want to order from your university bookstore and pay the premium for the premium regalia, this set may be just what you need.

I've gotten compliments on the quality and color of this regalia. I've worn it twice and it is very easy to put on, is very comfortable, and easy to store in the closet. I'm very happy with the purchase. For the price compared to other options, it's a WINNER!
