It was perfect to do little detail work on my car. I have a few bumps to remove from spray painting a new part. It does what it needs to while feeling like you have control over such a little thing. It doesn't work miracles but it cleaned up a quick DYI job. Also it is perfect for evening out thick coats of paint and blobs on your doors/frames. I didn't have a high gloss on mine so I'm not sure how that would affect those especially with high reflective finishes.But so far I've been liking this better than sandpaper. It's good for quick decisive and detailed work.

Pretty good little file as far as I can tell. I don't do auto painting so can't speak to actual intended use, but it sure seems up to its intended task. Handle is relatively comfortable, the magnetic attachment is good and stable, and the file appears to be well made. As just a gentle file for general use it's been working well for me.
