About this item

  • Adjustable turn-on temperature from 150-240 degree farenheit
  • Rated at a maximum 35 amps per fan
  • Activates fan #1 at adjusted temperature
  • Activates fan no.2 at 10 degree F warmer than fan no.1
  • AC override circuit included

Designed with quality and performance in mind, this High Amperage Dual Fan Controller breaks new ground in the industry of electric fan controllers. 100 per cent USA made, a bulletproof design, 35 amp per fan amperage rating, adjustability from 150 degree-240 degree F, and a die cast bright finish aluminum cap, come together to make this dual fan controller stand out from the crowd. It's capable of controlling two separate 35 amp fans at different turn-on temperatures, with only a single probe. The first electric fan will be activated at the temperature set by the user followed by the second electric fan when the temperature becomes 10 degree F warmer. Each electric fan will turn off at 10 degree F below its turn-on temperature. Kit comes complete with wiring harness, fusible link, all necessary electrical connectors and push-in style radiator probe.

I spent a lot of time wiring this perfectly only to have it not work at all not even on override which is the main reason I wanted this one. Where has the quality gone? Charge more and make a quality product!

I am clearly not the only one with complaints about this. I bought mine several years ago and had problems with it from the start. WELL... it finally completely failed. I bought this to use with a Derale 16825 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004XONXRQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews) for which I gave a 5 star review a few months ago, also mentioning problems with the relay/controller. It was flaky out of the box, intermittent operation over the years caused engine over heating twice, and it did not work well with the contact probe, but it was the only game in town sticking with Derale. I will say that Derale (at least at that time) had good customer service but would not really comment on the problems other than to say they would send a new one, but I just think the design and/or manufacture of this thing could be better. HOWEVER, I am now ordering a new one since I have everything already in place to just drop the replacement in. I can't recommend another brand on this as few are even made in a 70 AMP version. Great fans though.UPDATE: Now a few days later. Will have to revise my CS compliment. I guess over 10 years things have become a bit worse. I decided to try repairing the thing before ordering a new one. WELL... A call to CS did not yield a great outcome. I did not want to damage anything so I asked how to get to the PCB inside as I could not find any hidden screws. I was told there are no screws and that the entire unit is sealed with an impossible to remove putty. When I asked if that was planned obsolescence to force another high $$$ purchase, I was told NO it was because any humidity reaching the PCB would ruin the unit. When I mentioned that there were 4 external holes only covered by now crumbling grommets which had obviously been allowing humidity to enter the unit for years, I got a HANG-UP. Before I was hung-up on the guy told me any attempt to enter the case would instantly destroy the unit and not to try it. If it is not working anyway why NOT try it. I proceeded to carefully (using a high speed thin round blade metal saw) extract the PCB which is mounted to a block of rubber/plastic like material. If humidity is what they were worried about a gasket could have accomplished that and allowed for repair. In any case I got in and was able to simply re-solder the flaky yellow wire connection to the board and voila - WORKING AGAIN. A real pain but I saved $120+ and it gave me satisfaction. I will post an update if/when the thing stops working due to age or my daring to open it for repair. I might note that the 2 control wires for this unit are really flimsy and VERY SHORT for no reason other than to create problems. Simply having more strands and another 3 or 4 inches would make for a much more reliable and easy install. I replaced both the yellow and green wires with a longer heavier gauge and I think that will no longer be a problem. I am curious to see how long the rest of the PCB components last. I still love the fans I paired with this, so go figure.

Product did not work as the controller would not kick the fans on

This is a great improvement over the relays and capillary-tube sensor that came with my Jegs fan kit. But, 4 starts because the differential temp to start the second fan is too wide (10 degrees) and not adjustable. I ended up using a relay to tie both fans to the first fan circuit. It is also necessary to install a metal keeper on the probe, so both sides of the radiator must be accessed.

Great fan controller, fairly easy install. Everything needed to complete a belt to electric fan conversion is included if you buy the fans (PROCOMP DUAL 16" INCH ELECTRIC COOLING RADIATOR FAN KIT) by Procomp electronics on Amazon as well. Rapid shipping, great products and easy mounting. It is absolutely incredible the amount of room that this cleared up in a 2001 2500 HD 6.0 Vortec. I soldered and heat shrunk connections instead of using the supplied barrel connectors but they are provided and would likely be more than adequate. I tend to over-engineer, so i wanted a more watertight seal. Great products, modest (but noticeable) gains in torque, acceleration. This fan conversion is HIGHLY recommended if you trailer at all. Adjustable thermostat settings are very convenient as well.

I purchased this fan on a recomendation of a freind of mine I have already thanked him and I thank you for an excelent product. I found the installtion was realy easy, thanks to good directions and the pictures helped also. The only problem I had was in setting the turn on temp, the small screw in the resessed hole and there was no restense to tell if you were even turning the screw it took a few times but I did get it adjusted and it works great. Thank you for a great product and I hope to drive my 70 cuda for many years to come. I bought my Cuda in 1970 and ran it for 6 years until I retired it at 100,000 miles so the car is at 22 miles now . I stored the car in my yard and garage and then my barn it is now ready for the road again. I have not used any of your products before now and sofar it is working just great. Thank you Rick S.
