DERNORD stainless steel 304 cast pipe fitting with female National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads locking two fittings into place for stability and reduced vibrations. DERNORD locknut which has NPT threads for creating tighter seals than straight threads is used for fastening to a bolt when mechanically joining materials together and preventing loosening from vibration or back off. The hexagonal shape provides increased leverage for use with a wrench during installation and disassembly

Had to replace a broken "jam nut" securing a popup seal under the kitchen sink and couldn't find the exact replacement part anywhere. Took a chance and dropped $12 on this stainless steel locknut. It's slightly oversized such that it rocks a bit when threaded on the pipe, but with a few wraps of teflon tape it fit securely and withstood some hard tightening before I finally realized I also needed to redo the drain seal inside the sink to stop the leak. Happy with my purchase.

Size and/or threading are improper. They will barely start threading on to the pipe. Yes they can be made to somewhat fit 1" NPT but they do not without a tremendous amount of work. While I am keeping them they are only being used in a manner where integrity is not needed. In the event you are curious about this item You should just move on. I ended up with a 1" NPT Locknut made by Anvil.
