I use this to brush my long-haired kitten, Lionel, and he LOVES it!
He'll even roll over so that I can brush his tummy. I use this as an everyday brush (the finishing side)
and one of the awesome things about this brush is that it gets the undercoat.
I was using a slicker brush on him, and that was getting out a few hairs on top,
but now I am able to brush where it really matters--his undercoat. He has very soft almost silky fur,
and this brush doesn't damage his topcoat at all; it just makes him softer and silkier!
Thanks to Lionel loving this brush and me being able to get out the loose fur,
I haven't had to use the mat removal side, and I hope that I never do. :)
Recommended for long haired kitties
I have a Nebelung cat. They have very long, thick fur, and she currently getting her winter coat. This has really helped with the small knots veggie they turn into big mats. A regular brush just doesn't get through herfur like this grooming tool does. Well worth it!
Wish I bought this sooner! - Long haired cat
I worked at a professional grooming salon (primarily working on dogs) for 5 years throughout college. We had a ton of different tools to help with getting matts out. For some reason I decided to use tiny cuticle scissors on my long hair cat for her back matts/knots instead of investing in a tool like this (at first). They kept popping up more frequently (I suspected family member in the house was petting her against the way her fur lies). Thankfully I bought this tool and it worked immediately! She loves to be brushed/pet so she was purring the whole time I used it on her. I will say that it did seem to thin out her coat but I honestly think it was just removing a lot of the bulky undercoat she has. She feels silky soft now and I will still grab it and use it from time to time on her belly/back side/under arms.

My 11 year old cat has started grooming himself less and developing small matt clumps on his sides, I got this in hopes that I wouldn't have to torture him with a comb/shave him. IT'S AMAZING. He only let me do one side so far, but I ended up with a handful of fur and it didn't seem to bother him too much. Definitely not for large/thick matted fur, but great if you catch them early!

If only my cat liked getting brushed, this would pick up a lot more hair, but it works great when he's cooperating.

I might be wrong but I feel like the inner blades should be sharper? I comb my dogs hair with this but I feel like it's snagging. I just got my dog groomed and so I bought this comb, so that my dog wouldn't develop mats. But I feel like I have to pull his hair. Idk I thought it'd be smoother.

I had been struggling with a metal tine brush for my new long haired rescue cat and then she went thru a sheddding period that I could not keep up with. I had to cut some of the mats out and butchered her beautiful black coat. I knew this tool was available but had never used one...WOW!! so easy to use and I think she had a sigh of relief when I showed it to her and started using it!! she obviously had been combed with this type of deshedder before! Tolerated the process and she is much happier now and so am I !!! Great investment, not expensive and a life saver!!

I take care of an 18 yr old, grumpy, medium haired cat. As you could expect he has some difficulty grooming himself and with his very soft fur he gets mats very easily. Now this old fellow has always hated to be brushed and even when he was younger grooming was a challenge. I won't say he miraculously enjoys grooming - but this tool gets the mats out as gently and quickly as possible. I will still need to clip out a few small ones in delicate spots but overall very impressed. Metal head nice and sturdy, handle grip comfortable and good length, although the plastic feels perhaps not the most durable over long term/heavy use. Great value for nice product that works as advertised. Great addition to my pets grooming box. Have only tried on my long hair and med hair pets so far don't know how it will work on short hair yet(mainly got for grumpy old cat). Seller was great and even sent follow up email to make sure happy with product and instructions on proper use.

Utterly blown away about how this brush has worked for my Lab/husky mix!! Holley has had so many different brushes over the years that never lived up to their promise or price but this $9 brush sure has!! She is white so her skin is very sensitive in our coastal South Carolina sun and heat and this brush also proved to be the less painful drag on her skin, brushing is not so traumatic for her. Thank you to the company for Brush!
