DO NOT TRUST DETROIT AXLE!In May, I purchased a rack and pinion from Detroit Axle on Amazon. Within less than a month, my mechanic noticed that the part was leaking, due to a manufacturer defect. I called their corporate office regarding the warranty. They informed me that I needed to send back the original core from my vehicle, so I did. Once that arrived, I called them to get a warranty replacement. They agreed to send me a warranty replacement, but per their warranty, I was required to put a deposit of $150 for the part. Sadly, I didn't read the warranty prior to purchasing. In their warranty, it states that I am responsible for the shipping of the warranty part. It doesn't, however, mention anything about them not covering the mechanic cost. They send you a defective part, and then they make you put a deposit on the replacement part, pay for the shipping, AND pay the mechanic to replace the part. In the end, I have spent twice as much to have the part in my vehicle, as the original cost of the part.On top of that, I sent the defective part back. As of over two weeks ago, they have confirmed receipt of the part, and confirmed that it was inspected for being defective. I only know this, because I had to call them multiple times to confirm receipt of the part, and multiple times to confirm it was inspected. At this point, I was informed that the refund of my $150 deposit was being refunded. They informed me to wait a week for the refund to be processed. It was not. After a week, I called back and they informed me that they were processing the refund and it would show on my card within 48 hours. They didn't provide any information as to why it wasn't processed when they first said it was. Once again, it never showed up. I gave it an extra day, then called again. Once again, I was informed that the refund was being processed anew, and it would show in my account within 24 hours. Again, no explanation as to why it was not processed the first 2 times. I waited 3 days, and it still didn't show up.I called again, and they informed me that they would have a supervisor call me. This was over 24 hours ago, and nothing. I have attempted to contact management, to no avail. I have even attempted to call CEO Mike Musheinesh without success. This company has provided the poorest customer service, as well as an awful warranty. Please take this review into account and don't throw your money away at Detroit Axle!!!

The part was of poor quality and I wanted to return it but they charged me shipping. Be careful before you buy. Please check carefully if it meets your car requirements.
