I received this product, the cardboard was stained with what already leaked out. I'm no certified auto mechanic, but i know what im doin and after installing this, tried fixing the leaks from the lines, my van sounds and runs worse. Thanks anyway!

When I recieved the steering rack it was pitted and rough looking, but that was taken care of by them painting over the rust. It looked rough and my wife told me to send it back; if only I had listened to her. I told her it was rebuilt with new seals and internals and tested so I was not worried plus Detroit Axle has a good reputation. I paired the rack with a new pump and installed a line filter. After the first drive the power steering fluid looked grey. At this point I should have returned the steering rack, but it is a pain to do and I had no time and left it because the van gets driven less than 1000 miles a year for trips to wash the dogs and to take large groups of friends out.After installing it worked great for a few hundred miles and then it started to chatter in turns. I opened the line filter and found black debris in it. I cleaned the screen and changed the fluid to Lucas full synthetic and it was back to smooth operation. After less than 2000 miles the steering rack froze the steering up and dumped all of the fluid out very close to home. I had case of synthetic transmission fluid in the back so I fill it up and limped back home. The van now smells like cat piss because the ATF was sprayed up the steering column and soaked the carpet because the seal failed after less than 2000 miles. Does anyone know how to get ATF out of the carpet and pad?

Installed the product and less than a month was leaking fluid out of the seals then steering failure. Would not recommend!
