Handy as a shirt pocket. Light weight, no hose to drag around. Used it to completely disassemble a rusty '74 Jeep CJ5, what it didn't unbolt, it sheared off! Guess I should have used more Kroil penetrating oil. Plenty of torque to unbolt up to 1/2" bolts that were badly rusted. You may want to get a bigger battery, 4 or 5 Ah if you are going to use it a bunch.

Works great and is surprisingly powerful. I have already used it more than o thought I would and can’t believe it took me this long to buy one. Truly, it is a great tool and works well. Powerful enough for most DYI jobs. You won’t be disappointed.

This impact is great. I’m a dealership mechanic and have been using this impact steady for 3 years now. Other guys bought the snap on for prob 4x price and there’s are dieing out. While this is not quite as powerful as it was 3years ago, it’s still going strong everyday. I have to keep cleaning the led’s out as they always build up with grime. But I appreciate that they stay on for a bit after you let go the trigger. My snap-on 1/4 drive led’s are only on when trigger is pulled.

I initially bought this to use with hex tapcons and medium-light car work. Worked ok to swap my exhaust. Does the job removing lug nuts on smaller cars (tried on civic). Go with a higher power model if you have a bigger car.

When I was younger, I used professional air tools & wrenches, and they worked well with enough space, but were bulky and required annoying hoses & compressors.I've been working on cars for 40 years now as a hobby and finally decided to try out a cordless impact wrench since I already had DeWalt cordless drills and grass edgers. The 20V 3/8 drive impact arrived quickly and I was shocked at how small the box containing it was, as well as how compact and light the tool was.I hooked up a small, 2.0mAh battery to it and it blew me away. Lug nuts on the car were removed with no problem, the rear differential and axles I worked on were taken off in less than 5 minutes. This was normally a 30-minute affair with conventional hand tools. The tool's compact frame and super light (but powerful) build actually made the work enjoyable, with plenty of room to fit in most spaces that my hand tools did before.I can't believe I waited this long to get this cordless tool...faster, easier, and fairly inexpensive considering how much quality tools cost.I highly recommend this impact wrench and don't know how I managed before I got it!

I'm not sure why this gets such negative reviews (youtube, forums, and such). A lot of people say that there is a huge power loss in this one with the 3/8" anvil versus the 20V with the 1/4" chuck. Maybe that's true, but this has plenty of power for its size. And the advantage to this one versus the one with the 1/4" chuck, is this one with socket installed is shorter overall than the other. So I can get it into places the other won't go.I have been using the 12V Max impact with the 1/4" chuck for about 5 years. I absolutely love it, but it lacks power for most bolts over 10mm. I have used it everyday at work though removing valve cover bolts, intake bolts, skid plates, splash shields. Pretty much anything with a 10mm bolt or smaller, and some things with larger bolts. Plus its great for running in oil pan bolts, because it doesn't have gobs of power, I don't have to worry about cross threading bolts while blindly running them in.Now, as far as this 3/8 20V Max XR. It has quite a bit more power. The 150 ft/lb rating is only sorta accurate. I have attempted to remove torqued bolts to over 100 ft/lbs and this gun will not do it. Bolts torqued that high that have lock tite, or rust will likely be too tight for this impact. On the other hand, freshly torqued bolts with clean threads, this impact will remove well over 100 ft'lbs. That is assuming you're not using an 18" extension with a wobble socket. It removes lug nuts easily, if they were torqued correctly with a torque stick, or torque wrench.Im using the impact with a Dewalt 5 mAH battery and the charge lasts forever. I still use the 12V Max every day at work, but now I use this one every day as well. I use it for a lot of brake jobs, smaller suspension bolts, basically anything up to about 21mm, and it usually removes them easily. The battery will last with that type of use several weeks. I still have to use my air impacts when I need more power. For my 3/8 air I have the Ingersoll 2135 tiMAX. The ingersoll will beat this dewalt every time, but air hoses are annoying, so I reach for this first, and only use air if I have to.So yeah I'd recommend this to anyone tired of dragging around air hoses, or even for home use. Maybe it doesn't have tons of extra power to spare, but for its size, and convenience, it has plenty. I didn't buy it thinking it would be as strong as my Ingersoll. I bought it because I knew it would be close enough that I wouldn't have to lug the air hose around as much.

UPDATE: one year after, my impact is still running strong, im putting heavy use on it every day. It experiences some nasty high drops, swim in antifrezee and oil. Not even a crack casing. Only thing i can criticize wich i knew was coming from my other Dewalt tools, the little rubber bumper on the side are coming off. Still one of my favorite tool!Ps: Snap on guy unload hates on my impact when he see me using the Dewalt instead of the 400$ one he sold me. That tells everything when your top off the line tool guy is jealous... ;)I am a fan of Dewalt 20v line up! I use this tool as a car mechanic and welder, i got to say this is one of my favorite. Right out the box i did not expect that it would have so much power for a small impact. So i took a 5 ah battery and tryed it ont a car’s wheel lug nut and it took them all off no problems! I use it every day, it is silent and lightweight. The trigger has a nice graduation to it, so you can be soft on small fastener. Battery life is surprisingly long also. 5/5 i love it, if you need a 3/8 cordless impact don’t hesitate.
