This Dewenwils Transformer is surprisingly well built and capable for the price they are selling this at. It is heavy and built with a steel cabinet. These are things I’m used to seeing on the expensive transformers from Kichler and Hadco. This also has every available way to program this for On/Off operation. A timer, an Auto On/Off program and a photocell for dusk to dawn operation that comes with a long cable giving you the ability to mount it out of a shady area.This also comes with a memory function that will keep your settings in case of a power failure as well as a circuit breaker that will protect your lights when tripped due to a short.I was only able to test this with an 8 watt load and it functions as expected. It did have a slight hum when under a load but that is common with transformers like this. In the included instructions they instruct you not to exceed 300 watts. When I do a Landscape Lighting project I try to never exceed 80% of the transformers capacity. Still, 240 watts will give you the ability to power up a very large system. In addition to the 12 Volt taps, they also include two 15 Volt taps for preventing voltage drops on a very long wire run. Overall, this is a great unit and I will be installing this when I begin my next project in a few weeks.Since you can’t get this quality without spending many more dollars, this is a great value and my new choice for large landscape lighting projects. It should be your choice too!

Built with metal casing. Heavy transformer 12/15 volt output. Easy setup. Memory for settings if power lost. I set it up inside and then mounted it.Came with accessories. If installing on hollow panel will need a drill bit that matches plastic insert. Attached wire to the bottom and then hung unit on the two bolts.

it took hubby a little time to dig this out for testing as it has been very cold here in the northeast. But good things are worth waiting for, and this low voltage transformer is no exception. Comparing to our last one which has served us well, but we are moving, this one outshines it in almost every way. Ours was 12V, this one also offers 15V. It has many functions for deciding when the lights should come on and go off. There is the usual dusk to dawn, but also a timer function and a combination of the two. Just the heft of the thing evokes a feeling of quality - it is heavy and solid. Offering 300 W, there really should not be any limit to what we want for lighting given all the LED lights available. The one area that is lacking is the instruction book, not surprising given many instructions these days, but given the fact that we have had low voltage lighting for years, we are not concerned and feel that installation and operation will be intuitive and easy. Super impressed with this and feel like it is a great deal. I am positive we spent more on our inferior one a decade ago. Highly recommend.

Works as described. A little clunky to program but once you get used to it it's not that bad. Would definitely buy again. Very easy to hook up.

This is hands down one of the most durable landscape lighting transformers I’ve tested in a while. The frame and casing are really solid, and it definitely feels like something that’s built to last for years. Functionality-wise, it’s pretty straightforward. There aren’t any fancy extras like Wi-Fi or app control, but it does include a built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor and a timer, which are both really handy. What makes this one even better is the price. It’s way more budget-friendly compared to similar transformers I’ve tried before, so if you’re looking for something reliable without breaking the bank, this is a solid pick.

This new transformer was a breeze to install. It is well built, well sealed, and also very heavy. My main reason for purchasing this box is that the manual timer in my old one went out, plus this one came with a photo sensor so I could have it come on at dusk and off at dawn, which I prefer, beats having to reset my timer every few months to match the outside light. If you choose not to use the photo sensor you can manually turn it on and off or set up your own program. It has a memory feature so if your power goes out it keeps the settings. Another nice and handy feature is a test mode that leaves the lights on for several minutes before turning off and going back to its original setting. You can connect two lines to it, a 12 volt and a 15 volt line. A very good value for the money, and way cheaper for something similar at the big box store.

I've always wanted one of these to run lights off of. I installed it to power six pathway lights and three spotlights for my home, and it handles the load with no issues. The 200W capacity provides plenty of headroom for my current setup and future expansion. Installation was straightforward, and the photocell sensor works perfectly as advertised—lights come on at dusk without any intervention.The multiple operating modes proved more useful than I expected. I've programmed the timer to shut off at midnight to save energy, but can easily switch to manual mode when hosting nighttime parties. If the power goes out, the unit will remember my settings without needing reprogramming. The metal housing has withstood heavy rain, snow, and sun without showing any signs of wear. This transformer delivers exactly what it promises.
