The plastic bushing is notorious for wearing down and/or cracking and breaking, allowing for excessive play between the pushrod and even extreme cases the factory clutch rod end breaks completely leaving you stranded on the side of the road.

As so many others stated it needs a set screw. This one comes with a cotter pin which requires drilling the rod. Also needed to enlarge the large hole to fit to the pedal. I tapped the cotter pin holes with a 10/32 tap and used my own set screws. I wish Iād read reviews before this purchase.

This may work on a different model, but not on my 2005 mustang gt. Had to do some modifications to the item. I had to grind it down a little flatter to where the clip would hold it on and had to make the hole a little bigger so it would fit on the clutch petal. It should have a set screw to tighten it to the clutch rod. Not a cotter pin which came with it.

contruction was good but all they had to secure it to the rod was a codder pin. so you would have had to drill a hole in the rod to secure it... i just got 2 set screws and tapped the part. locked tightened the screws and the shaft and so far its working

Does not fit to the clutch pedal. You need to drill out the hole. Like the other reviews state it is not the set screw style it is a cotter pin. Definitely not as described.

I'm about to try to use this. I was under the impression it had a set screw. Not sure how safe this will be after a hole has to be drilled in the master cylinder rod. This is the only one of these I've seen with a cutter pin. Ask questions BEFORE buying.***UPDATE***It wasn't an easy install because of the limited space to work, but seems to be holding up as advertised. I did have to ream out the hole where it attaches to the pedal. Seeing as the only alternative was to replace the whole master cylinder, this was a cheap fix. I would rather had a set screw but if your in a bind like I was, this will work. I only gave it 4 stars because it didn't mention the cotter pin, had to slightly modify it and I don't know how long this will last as I just installed it Monday.

I have an 06 Mustang GT. I got this before I read the reviews, so I was super shocked by the pin instead of a retaining screw. Disassembling everything so that I could put a hole in the master cylinder rod was a nonstarter, but after 10-15 minutes of thinking, I had a workable plan. A quick trip to the hardware store, and I had procured tap and it was a simple process to add my own screws.I made my way to the parking lot where my car was stranded only to get another surprise, it didn't fit. It didn't fit at all. Both rods would only go partly in, I couldn't get it to sit fully. I even went and got some 3 in 1 and that didn't help in the slightest. I did manage to wedge things so hard together that I was able to move my car to a safer location a couple of blocks away so I could order another part, but overall this product was a complete failure.
