I use it as a simple cable coupler, but with a small screw and eye lug I can add a ground connection.

I use these all over the place both for joining coax cables and for wall plates. They get the job done and I've never had any issues with them.

I mounted two on a 1 ft. long1 by 1 inch angle bracket with cables to one end and antennas soldered to Male So-239 connectors to the other end. In this application the antennas are made of brazing rod and pointed downward with cables going up to the receiver.

this one prob better made than some of the others used it to make a 2meter an 70 cc ground plain its not a wide band antenna but works an cheap to make
