Nicely finished tool. I used it to recut damaged threads, not cut new threads, and it did that just fine. Project complete!

I had to extend the thread on a bolt and this did the job without any problems. It has an aggressive bite and it worked best if I cleared the metal chips often. I also used a lot of cutting oil when threading the bolt.

I had 8 1/2” shafts to thread. I believe they were aluminum or a softer steel. The die worked great until the 5 one. You could tell that it was getting dull and the remaining shafts were harder to cut. The last 2 were very difficult to start but I did ask a lot out of the tool. I threw it away after my project was completed.

I currently have a tap and die set (Craftsmen) made in China. I have started to replace those dies with Hanson USA dies. They cut a clean and precise thread over and over again.
